Israels Right to Defend

The following is a post from Eli Hertz who hits the bullseye with his commentary of the War in Gaza – Operation Anud Anan:
United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions and International treaties define crimes against humanity as the “participation in, and knowledge of, a widespread or systematic attack against a civilian population, and the multiple commissions of [such] acts … against any civilian population.”

These international binding instruments go-on to impose uniform mandatory counter-terrorist obligations on all states to “bring to justice the perpetrators, organizers, and sponsors of terrorist attacks and stresses that those responsible for aiding, supporting or harboring the perpetrators, organizers and sponsors of these acts will be held accountable.

There is no escape clause – UNSC repeats “its unequivocal condemnation of all acts, methods and practices of terrorism as criminal and unjustifiable, regardless of their motivation, in all their forms and manifestations, wherever and by whomever committed.” Terrorist organizations such as Hamas that kidnap Israelis, blow up and destroy public buses, murder young people at cafés and discos, and school outings, alongside indiscriminate around-the-clock shelling of hundreds of Katyusha, Qassam, and Grad rockets targeting civilian populations in Israel, are clearly committing Crimes Against Humanity – acts of terrorism for which the UNSC under Chapter VII of the UN Charter directs everyone to fight terrorism by all means.

International law leaves no room to question Israel’s right to defend its citizens against systematic and sustained terrorist attacks launched from Gaza, by Hamas. Israel’s reaction to aggression is nothing more than a measured, fair response designed “to effectively terminate the attack [s]” upon it by terrorists supported by Iran, Syria, and Lebanon, in order to “prevent its recurrence.” Israel is far from using all means in fighting terrorism, as required by UNSC.

Israel Military on Alert

Chief of Staff Benny Gantz has ordered all IDF units to cancel their traditional Passover breaks so that they can operate in full capacity over the upcoming holiday, Yedioth Ahronoth reported Wednesday.

Israel Defcon Two

The implication of the decision is that for the first time in many years, all IDF units will maintain their regular operations and remain on full alert throughout the holiday.

As result of the unexpected decision, thousands of soldiers at various IDF headquarters and bases will have to report for duty as usual in order to allow their units to operate with no interruption.

IDF officials dismissed suggestions that the decision is related to operational circumstances or preparations for military maneuvers. The army said Chief of Staff Gantz made the call after asserting that he does not accept the notion of an army-wide Passover vacation.

However, IDF soldiers who received the news Tuesday could not be convinced that the timing of the decision was arbitrary.

World War 3

The Global War Machine

Like the magician’s sleight of hand the world’s attention is trained on Syria and Iran as the region continues to move toward military confrontation, while pieces are being put into place for a truly global conflict, with military buildup taking place in every region and threatening to draw in all of the world’s major powers.

Pakistani/US Update

President Barak Obama intends to violate Pakistani airspace whenever he feels it is necessary

The tensions between Pakistan and the US continue to escalate.  The Chinese government has given the Pakistani regime 50 of their JF-17 advanced fighter jets at no cost to help fend off any US attacks.  Intelligence reports indicate that NATO (US/Britain/EU) is waging a black-ops war against Pakistani to destabilize the country, in order to rationalize a seizure of Pakistani Nuclear Forces, such as those at Saragota Air Base with has a reported 80 nukes and the required warplanes to deliver them.  The West (Edom) is using a counterfeit Taliban-type terror group to wage a secret war against the Pakistan government, and recently struck at the Faisal Naval Air Base and destroyed the Orion Sub Killers that were stationed there.  The US is stepping up Drone attacks which have killed dozens of Pakistani’s in recent days.

US & Pakistan Near Open War; Chinese Ultimatum Warns Washington Against Attack

The following news update is issued by Webster G. Tarpley, Ph.D.TARPLEY.net May 20, 2011

“Any Attack on Pakistan Would be Construed as an Attack on China”

Chinese Pakistani AllianceChina has officially put the United States on notice that Washington’s planned attack on Pakistan will be interpreted as an act of aggression against Beijing. This blunt warning represents the first known strategic ultimatum received by the United States in half a century, going back to Soviet warnings during the Berlin crisis of 1958-1961, and indicates the grave danger of general war growing out of the US-Pakistan confrontation…..

………….The crisis leading to World War I began with the Sarajevo assassinations of June 28, 1914, but the first major declaration of war did not occur until August 1. In the interim month of July 1914, large parts of European public opinion retreated into a dreamlike trance, an idyllic la-la land of elegiac illusion, even as the deadly crisis gathered momentum. Something similar can be seen today. Many Americans fondly imagine that the alleged death of Bin Laden marks the end of the war on terror and the Afghan War. Instead, the Bin Laden operation has clearly ushered in a new strategic emergency. Forces which had opposed the Iraq war, from MSNBC to many left liberals of the peace movement, are variously supporting Obama’s bloody aggression in Libya, or even celebrating him as a more effective warmonger than Bush-Cheney because of his supposed success at the expense of Bin Laden. In reality, if there were ever a time to mobilize to stop a new and wider war, this is it.

US response  (from the regional envoy, Mark Grossman)  is a rejection of the ultimatum and a reiteration of the US position to protect Pakistan’s nuclear forces. President Obama has already given the okay to deploy troops into Pakistan to protect Pakistan’s nuclear forces in the event that the Jihadists would seek revenge over Bin Laden’s supposed death and would try to overthrow the Pakistani regime.
