PM Netanyahu’s Speech at the UN General Assembly – January 2012

PM Netanyahu’s Speech at the UN General Assembly

Mr. President, Ladies and Gentlemen,
Nearly 62 years ago, the United Nations recognized the right of the Jews, an ancient people 3,500 years-old, to a state of their own in their ancestral homeland. I stand here today as the Prime Minister of Israel, the Jewish state, and I speak to you on behalf of my country and my people. The United Nations was founded after the carnage of World War II and the horrors of the Holocaust. It was charged with preventing the recurrence of such horrendous events. Nothing has undermined that central mission more than the systematic assault on the truth. Yesterday the President of Iran stood at this very podium, spewing his latest anti-Semitic rants. Just a few days earlier, he again claimed that the Holocaust is a lie.
Last month, I went to a villa in a suburb of Berlin called Wannsee. There, on January 20, 1942 , after a hearty meal, senior Nazi officials met and decided how to exterminate the Jewish people. The detailed minutes of that meeting have been preserved by successive German governments. Here is a copy of those minutes, in which the Nazis issued precise instructions on how to carry out the extermination of the Jews. Is this a lie? A day before I was in Wannsee, I was given in Berlin the original construction plans for the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp. Those plans are signed by Hitler’s deputy, Heinrich Himmler himself. Here is a copy of the plans for Auschwitz-Birkenau, where one million Jews were murdered. Is this too a lie? This June, President Obama visited the Buchenwald concentration camp. Did President Obama pay tribute to a lie?And what of the Auschwitz survivors whose arms still bear the tattooed numbers branded on them by the Nazis? Are those tattoos a lie? One-third of all Jews perished in the conflagration. Nearly every Jewish family was affected, including my own. My wife’s grandparents, her father’s two sisters and three brothers, and all the aunts, uncles and cousins were all murdered by the Nazis. Is that also a lie?
Yesterday, the man who calls the Holocaust a lie spoke from this podium. To those who refused to come here and to those who left this room in protest, I commend you. You stood up for moral clarity and you brought honor to your countries. But to those who gave this Holocaust-denier a hearing, I say on behalf of my people, the Jewish people, and decent people everywhere: Have you no shame? Have you no decency? A mere six decades after the Holocaust, you give legitimacy to a man who denies that the murder of six million Jews took place and pledges to wipe out the Jewish state. What a disgrace! What a mockery of the charter of the United Nations! Perhaps some of you think that this man and his odious regime threaten only the Jews. You’re wrong. History has shown us time and again that what starts with attacks on the Jews eventually ends up engulfing many others. This Iranian regime is fueled by an extreme fundamentalism that burst onto the world scene three decades ago after lying dormant for centuries.
In the past thirty years, this fanaticism has swept the globe with a murderous violence and cold-blooded impartiality in its choice of victims. It has callously slaughtered Moslems and Christians, Jews and Hindus, and many others. Though it is comprised of different offshoots, the adherents of this unforgiving creed seek to return humanity to medieval times. Wherever they can, they impose a backward regimented society where women, minorities, gays or anyone not deemed to be a true believer is brutally subjugated. The struggle against this fanaticism does not pit faith against faith nor civilization against civilization. It pits civilization against barbarism, the 21st century against the 9th century, those who sanctify life against those who glorify death. The primitivism of the 9th century ought to be no match for the progress of the 21st century. The allure of freedom, the power of technology, the reach of communications should surely win the day.
Ultimately, the past cannot triumph over the future. And the future offers all nations magnificent bounties of hope. The pace of progress is growing exponentially. It took us centuries to get from the printing press to the telephone, decades to get from the telephone to the personal computer, and only a few years to get from the personal computer to the internet. What seemed impossible a few years ago is already outdated, and we can scarcely fathom the changes that are yet to come. We will crack the genetic code. We will cure the incurable. We will lengthen our lives. We will find a cheap alternative to fossil fuels and clean up the planet. I am proud that my country Israelis at the forefront of these advances – by leading innovations in science and technology, medicine and biology, agriculture and water, energy and the environment. These innovations the world over offer humanity a sunlit future of unimagined promise.
But if the most primitive fanaticism can acquire the most deadly weapons, the march of history could be reversed for a time. And like the belated victory over the Nazis, the forces of progress and freedom will prevail only after an horrific toll of blood and fortune has been exacted from mankind. That is why the greatest threat facing the world today is the marriage between religious fanaticism and the weapons of mass destruction. The most urgent challenge facing this body is to prevent the tyrants of Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons. Are the member states of the United Nations up to that challenge?
Will the international community confront a despotism that terrorizes its own people as they bravely stand up for freedom? Will it take action against the dictators who stole an election in broad daylight and gunned down Iranian protesters who died in the streets choking in their own blood? Will the international community thwart the world’s most pernicious sponsors and practitioners of terrorism? Above all, will the international community stop the terrorist regime of Iran from developing atomic weapons, thereby endangering the peace of the entire world? The people of Iran are courageously standing up to this regime. People of goodwill around the world stand with them, as do the thousands who have been protesting outside this hall. Will the United Nations stand by their side?
Ladies and Gentlemen, The jury is still out on the United Nations, and recent signs are not encouraging. Rather than condemning the terrorists and their Iranian patrons, some here have condemned their victims. That is exactly what a recent UN report on Gaza did, falsely equating the terrorists with those they targeted. For eight long years, Hamas fired from Gaza thousands of missiles, mortars and rockets on nearby Israeli cities. Year after year, as these missiles were deliberately hurled at our civilians, not a single UN resolution was passed condemning those criminal attacks. We heard nothing – absolutely nothing – from the UN Human Rights Council, a misnamed institution if there ever was one. In 2005, hoping to advance peace,Israel unilaterally withdrew from every inch of Gaza . It dismantled 21 settlements and uprooted over 8,000 Israelis. We didn’t get peace. Instead we got an Iranian backed terror base fifty miles from Tel Aviv. Life in Israeli towns and cities next to Gaza became a nightmare. You see, the Hamas rocket attacks not only continued, they increased tenfold. Again, the UN was silent.
Finally, after eight years of this unremitting assault, Israel was finally forced to respond. But how should we have responded? Well, there is only one example in history of thousands of rockets being fired on a country’s civilian population. It happened when the Nazis rocketed British cities during World War II. During that war, the allies leveled German cities, causing hundreds of thousands of casualties. Israel chose to respond differently. Faced with an enemy committing a double war crime of firing on civilians while hiding behind civilians -Israel sought to conduct surgical strikes against the rocket launchers. That was no easy task because the terrorists were firing missiles from homes and schools, using mosques as weapons depots and ferreting explosives in ambulances. Israel , by contrast, tried to minimize casualties by urging Palestinian civilians to vacate the targeted areas. We dropped countless flyers over their homes, sent thousands of text messages and called thousands of cell phones asking people to leave. Never has a country gone to such extraordinary lengths to remove the enemy’s civilian population from harm’s way. Yet faced with such a clear case of aggressor and victim, who did the UN Human Rights Council decide to condemn?Israel. A democracy legitimately defending itself against terror is morally hanged, drawn and quartered, and given an unfair trial to boot.
By these twisted standards, the UN Human Rights Council would have dragged Roosevelt and Churchill to the dock as war criminals. What a perversion of truth. What a perversion of justice. Delegates of the United Nations, Will you accept this farce? Because if you do, the United Nations would revert to its darkest days, when the worst violators of human rights sat in judgment against the law-abiding democracies, when Zionism was equated with racism and when an automatic majority could declare that the earth is flat. If this body does not reject this report, it would send a message to terrorists everywhere: Terror pays; if you launch your attacks from densely populated areas, you will win immunity. And in condemning Israel , this body would also deal a mortal blow to peace. Here’s why. When Israel left Gaza , many hoped that the missile attacks would stop. Others believed that at the very least, Israel would have international legitimacy to exercise its right of self-defense. What legitimacy? What self-defense?
The same UN that cheered Israel as it left Gaza and promised to back our right of self-defense now accuses us -my people, my country – of war crimes? And for what? For acting responsibly in self-defense. What a travesty! Israel justly defended itself against terror. This biased and unjust report is a clear-cut test for all governments. Will you stand with Israel or will you stand with the terrorists? We must know the answer to that question now. Now and not later. Because if Israelis again asked to take more risks for peace, we must know today that you will stand with us tomorrow. Only if we have the confidence that we can defend ourselves can we take further risks for peace.Ladies and Gentlemen, All of Israel wants peace.
Any time an Arab leader genuinely wanted peace with us, we made peace. We made peace with Egypt led by Anwar Sadat. We made peace with Jordan led by King Hussein. And if the Palestinians truly want peace, I and my government, and the people of Israel , will make peace. But we want a genuine peace, a defensible peace, a permanent peace. In 1947, this body voted to establish two states for two peoples – a Jewish state and an Arab state. The Jews accepted that resolution. The Arabs rejected it. We ask the Palestinians to finally do what they have refused to do for 62 years: Say yes to a Jewish state. Just as we are asked to recognize a nation-state for the Palestinian people, the Palestinians must be asked to recognize the nation state of the Jewish people.
The Jewish people are not foreign conquerors in the Land of Israel . This is the land of our forefathers. Inscribed on the walls outside this building is the great Biblical vision of peace: “Nation shall not lift up sword against nation. They shall learn war no more.” These words were spoken by the Jewish prophet Isaiah 2,800 years ago as he walked in my country, in my city, in the hills of Judea and in the streets of Jerusalem . We are not strangers to this land. It is our homeland. As deeply connected as we are to this land, we recognize that the Palestinians also live there and want a home of their own. We want to live side by side with them, two free peoples living in peace, prosperity and dignity.
But we must have security. The Palestinians should have all the powers to govern themselves except those handful of powers that could endanger Israel . That is why a Palestinian state must be effectively demilitarized. We don’t want another Gaza , another Iranian backed terror base abutting Jerusalem and perched on the hills a few kilometers from Tel Aviv. We want peace. I believe such a peace can be achieved. But only if we roll back the forces of terror, led by Iran , that seek to destroy peace, eliminate Israel and overthrow the world order. The question facing the international community is whether it is prepared to confront those forces or accommodate them.
Over seventy years ago, Winston Churchill lamented what he called the “confirmed unteachability of mankind,” the unfortunate habit of civilized societies to sleep until danger nearly overtakes them. Churchill bemoaned what he called the “want of foresight, the unwillingness to act when action will be simple and effective, the lack of clear thinking, the confusion of counsel until emergency comes, until self-preservation strikes its jarring gong.”
I speak here today in the hope that Churchill’s assessment of the “unteachability of mankind” is for once proven wrong. I speak here today in the hope that we can learn from history — that we can prevent danger in time. In the spirit of the timeless words spoken to Joshua over 3,000 years ago, let us be strong and of good courage. Let us confront this peril, secure our future and, God willing, forge an enduring peace for generations to come.

China Threatens World War Three if Iran is Attacked

A  news report available on YouTube has China threatening the West with “World War Three” if they precede with plans to attack Iran who is China’s 2nd largest oil suppier.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-3xeP7NFRE&feature=player_embedded

According to NDTV, a Chinese news station based outside of China, Major General Zhang Zhaozhong commented that, “China will not hesitate to protect Iran even with a third world war.” The report  quotes Professor Xia Ming as paraphrasing Zhaozhong’s quote that, “not hesitating to fight a third world war would be entirely for domestic political needs.”  China is staunchly committed to its alliance with Iran , and refused to criticize Iran’s recent student raid on the British Embassy in Tehran.

Both China and Russia have made it clear that they will veto any UN authorization of military action against Iran in the aftermath of claims that Iran is on the verge of developing a nuclear weapon.  Recently, three more US warships have been dispatched to join the USS John C. Stennis,  a Nimitz-class nuclear-powered supercarrier, already stationed just outside Iranian territorial waters. The USS Carl Vinson aircraft carrier has just been deployed from its home port to join the U.S. 5th Fleet AOR.in the 5th fleet region.  In addition to the USS Carl Vinson’s departure, guided-missile cruiser USS Bunker Hill and guided-missile destroyer left in the morning, and the USS Halsey will depart at 2 p.m,” reports NBC SanDiego, adding that the ships are headed for the Middle East.

An order from Iranian Gen. Mohammed Ali Jaafari, the commander of the Revolutionary Guards, raised the operational readiness status of the country’s forces, initiating preparations for potential external strikes and covert attacks.  Western intelligence officials said the Islamic Republic had initiated plans to disperse long-range missiles, high explosives, artillery and guards units to key defensive positions.

Looming Financial Doom

MONEY WOES FOR THE UN

Recently, as was announced by the Bought and Sold Press, the Palestinian Authority was granted membership in the United Nations UNESCO.  The announcement was lauded as a break through for the PA and cheered by the UN and those who want to see the PA established as a parasite nation.  The PA vowed it was applying for membership to 16 other UN organizations in celebration of it’s PR victory.  That celebration however encouraging to the Palestinians is to be short-lived.

Fast forward to today November 3rd, 2011.   In a surprising reversal, Ban Ki Moon, the UN General Secretary announced  that the PA should be content with what they have gained and not seek membership in other UN organizations.  This is coming from a man who has encouraged the Palestinians in their political plans until now.  So why the change of heart?  Money, Money, Money.

After UNESCO accepted the PA as a member, the United States, Canada and Israel cut-off funding the organization.  The United States and Canada supply 30% of it’s operating budget.  The US gives about 64 million annually to UNESCO.  Israel is also cutting off it’s 2 million dollar aid as well.   Ban Ki Moon is trying to head off a financial collapse by discouraging the PA from further membership in it’s organizations.  The United States by law, cannot support any UN organization that has the PA as a member.  Personally, I hope the PA applies for membership in all the UN organizations.   The US should not be funding that morally bankrupt monster with even $1 US dollar.  The building should be vacated of the riffraff and used for American interests (US citizens, not US Gov.)

MONEY WOES FOR EUROPE

Without warning, Lloyd’s, the world’s oldest insurer announced that it has withdrawn its money from European banks.  According to Lloyd’s, the banks are in danger of failing as the debt crisis in Europe continues to intensify. The company’s Finance Director, Luke Savage, put it simply:

“If you’re worried the government itself might be at risk, then you’re certainly worried the banks could be taken down with them.”

Which European governments is Lloyd’s speaking of? They’re not saying publicly. But we should note that Lloyd’s didn’t just withdraw its money from only Greek banks; it withdrew its money from banks from all over the European BlocWhen the world’s oldest insurance company, a firm that for 323 years has made its living by accurately calculating the odds of future disasters . When that company suddenly takes its money and runs, it’s a MASSIVE red flag for investors— a clear signal that the start of the end is near!

Lloyd’s has every reason to worry. In addition to the government debt crisis that’s threatening to destroy European banks, a huge credit crisis is spreading across the Continent as well.  Spanish and Italian banks are rejecting massive numbers of loans and charging customers more as the sovereign debt crisis continues to drive their own borrowing cost higher.  Any way you look at it, this shrinking of European credit markets is the worst kind of downward spiral:

  • The government debt crisis is making it harder and more expensive for banks to borrow money; the banks are passing those higher costs along to borrowers.
  • Corporations have to pay more to borrow; their cost of doing business is rising.
  • Consumers can’t or won’t borrow at higher rates, so corporate earnings plunge.
  • As corporate earnings evaporate, the taxes they pay also plummet.
  • Falling tax revenues cause the government’s deficits to explode higher, driving the banks’ cost of borrowing even higher.

MONEY WOES FOR THE PA

The EU (European Union) gives the PA about $90 million a year.   The looming financial disaster may cause a shortfall of cash, not only for UN who receives billions in dues from it’s member nations, but the PA as well as the crisis further develops.   As this crisis hits the US, the estimated $150 million that we give to the PA could dwindle and disappear.   This could stall the PA/Hamas political agenda, at least in some respect. One can only hope and dream.  But time can only tell.

World Leaders Will Be In Recess During Elenin Alignment on September 26-27, 2011

September 21, 2011 – UPDATE – TAMPA, FL -In a strange coincidence of anomalies, many world leaders  and politicians will be in recess during the next alignment with ‘Comet’  Elenin.

The United Nations has an empty schedule from September 23rd  through October 10th, 2011.

The UK Parliament is in recess from September 15th  through October 10th, 2011.

The United States Congress is on vacation from September 25th  through October 2nd, 2011.

The Australian Parliament will not be sitting on those days as well.

Germany’s President’s schedule is empty after September 25,  2011.

Pope Benedict will be in Germany from September 22nd-25th, but it is unclear where he will be on September 26-27th

Conspiracy or Real Event Unfolding

For some time Israel in Prophecy has spoken about the coming of Comet Elenin on our Signs page.   Already this year  alignments of the Sun with Elenin have produced devastating earthquakes in both Chile (8.8) and in Japan (9.0). This is not Science Fiction but relatively unknown Science FACT.  Is it a coincidence that so many world governing bodies will be in recess during this time.  Even the UN who is about to hear the bid for a Palestinian state will convene that very same day.  This action would seem out of line with a world governing body such as the UN given the very explosive situation that any announcement of a Palestinian state would create on the ground in Judea and Samaria.  This fact alone would seem to tell us something much larger is at hand.

Alignment

Elenin Is HERE!The next important alignment concerning Elenin is Sept 27th, 2011 – five days from now.  The Jewish New Year, Rosh HaShana begins very close to that alignment on the 28th, the very next day.  As I mentioned previously and with a caveat, that while Christianity is not compatible with Jewish belief, their book of Revelation, approximately 1900 years old and written by a Jew foretold of a celestial alignment that would occur during the High Holy Days during a time when Israel was under persecution and attacks.

While one may debate the accuracy of Christian beliefs, as many of us do, this alignment is a real event and scheduled to occur on Sept 28, 2011 – Rosh Hashana 5772, the Jewish 2012.  You can verify this with any modern computer with any number of good Astronomy programs.  I use Stellarium.

Conspiracy Abounds

A very interesting site speaks about the world leaders absence during this time on http://in5d.com/world-leaders-will-be-in-recess-during-elenin-alignment-september-26-27-2011.html.

Check out the video’s.

With all the converging events unfolding during this time lead me to the understanding that we may very well be upon the precipice that plunges our world into a period of not only darkness and chaos but ultimately to the LIGHT of God and His ultimate purpose for humankind

The Future of the Secular Israeli State

Founder of the State of IsraelThe following post was originally posted on the 1st of September by Moriya’s Place and send to us by our friend Agatha.  Our commentary on the Modern Israeli Government is at the bottom of the post.

Rely only on Hashem, להסתמך על רק הקדוש ברוך הוא 9/01/2011 | Posted by Moriya’s Place

Countless Jews are appalled or dumbfounded. They cannot understand how a Jewish government, backed the Israel Defense Forces, could give away Judea and Samaria, the sacred heartland of the Jewish people to terrorist thugs. The Prophets and Sages of Israel predicted that, in the end of days, the Jews would have such a government. They foresaw that Israel would be ruled by “scorners” of the Torah. These scorners, said the Prophet Hosea (12:1-3), will fill Israel with lies and deception. They will strive after wind (“peace”) and make alliances with Israel’s enemies. The Prophet Isaiah (28:14-18) chastises these insolent Jews. He foretells that they will make a “covenant with death,” but that this pact will not protect them, indeed, that they will be swept away like refuse.

Remarkably, the Targum translates this pact with death as a contract with “terrorists” (mechablim)! Similarly, the Zohar (Exodus 7b) predicts that in the end of days certain Jews in Israel will make an alliance with the enemies of the Jewish people. The Israel-PLO Declaration of Principles fits this dire prediction. In the Talmud, tractate Sanhedrin (98a), we learn that in the end of days Israel will have the “cheapest” government. Only the cheapest politicians would negotiate with terrorist thugs responsible for the murder and maiming thousands of Jewish men, women, and children.

Such shamelessness should make any man of taste want to vomit. This leads me to examine the certain conclusions of Mishna Sotah (49b): With the footsteps of the Moshiach arrogance shall increase and honor dwindle. The government shall turn to heresy [such as secular humanism] and there shall be none to utter reproof. The council-chamber [the Knesset] shall be given to immorality. Galilee will be barren, the Golan shall be desolate, and the dwellers on the frontier [in Judah, Samaria, and Gaza] shall go from place to place with none to take pity on them. The wisdom of their writers [journalists and academics] will become insipid and degenerate [will become morally neutral if not anti-Jewish]; they that shun sin shall be despised. The truth shall nowhere be found [thanks to the university-bred doctrine of relativism]. Youth shall shame their elders, and the elders shall stand up in the presence of youth [a commonplace in democracies] … The face of this generation is as the face of a dog [impervious to shame]… So upon whom can we rely?

Upon our Father in heaven.

● Is it not obvious that the Jews in Israel cannot rely on the opposition parties such as Likud to save them from disaster?

● Is it not obvious, from the experience of Lebanon and Sderot, that Jews cannot rely on the Israel Defense Forces?

● Is it not obvious that Jews cannot rely on rabbis who pontificate about pikuach nefesh?

● Is it not obvious that Jews cannot rely on political and strategic analysts to stop the suicidal course of Israel’s government? ●

Is it not obvious that Jews cannot rely on the United States or on information campaigns (hasbara) to save them from the successors of the Nazis? By now it should also be obvious that it is precisely because Jews have relied on such vanities that they have been given spineless politicians who would sacrifice Eretz Yisrael for mere wind. Finally, consider Rashi’s commentary to Genesis 1:1. If the nations of the world should

and say: ‘You are robbers in that you have seized by force the territories of the seven nations,’ Israel can retort: ‘The entire world belongs to the Holy One, Blessed be He. He created it and gave it to whomsoever it was right in His eyes. It was His will to give it to them and it was His will to take it from them and give it to us.’ To whom are these words of centuries ago addressed? Surely, to Jews in Israel today.

But no Israeli government has ever uttered these words. Nor has any religious party in any Israeli government ever made such words its clarion call! You will say: “But the nations will mock these words and laugh at us.” I reply: Have countless appeals to “security” won the supportive concern of the nations? Have ingratiating words about “Israeli democracy” earned the respect of the democratic world? Has willingness to yield “territory for peace” appeased the voracious appetites of Janus-faced Arab despots? Is not Israel despised by the nations no matter how yielding it has been in the “peace process”? I dare say that it is precisely because Jews have not based their claim to Eretz Yisrael exclusively on Rashi’s commentary to Genesis 1:1 that Israel is so often disdained and condemned by the nations! I am not saying that citing Rashi will convince any nation that the Jews have a G-d given title to Eretz Yisrael. The task of the Jews is not to convince the nations of anything! That happens to be the compulsion or futility of assimilated Jews.

Too many Jews—religious included—want to win the approval of the nations rather than the approval of G-d. Legions of religious Jews rely more on politicians and political rhetoric than on the Torah and on the G-d of Israel. This is why the above Mishna indicates that in the end of days, when we have exhausted the heresies of our time and are utterly helpless, that we shall turn to our Father in heaven. This is not a counsel of despair. It is a plea for rational analysis. Stop relying like addicts on failed ideas and flawed politicians. Start proclaiming that G-d alone has given us title to Eretz Yisrael—and never mind the scorners! Just do it and leave the consequences to G-d, Who alone is the Master of war and peace.

Secular Israel Foretold it’s Own Destiny in 1948

We have all seen the great Menorah depicted on Titus’ Arch.  A 7 – branched candelabra supported by a stepped base.  It is without doubt the most famous depictions of the Temple Menorah.  On the Arch the triumphant Roman soldiers cart away the Temple Menorah, showing the power of the Roman State.

When the modern secular Jewish State sought a symbol to represent the new Jewish state, this menorah was chosen, after much debate and consideration.  At first, this would seem appropriate to the unlearned – the Menorah has in the past been the symbol of the Jewish people.  But the depiction of the Menorah on Titus’s Arch is a fraud, a forgery.  One only need to look at the base or pedestal to see the idolatrous images of dragons carved into the pedestal.  There is no possible way that this pedestal ever sat in the Second Temple.  Just years before it’s removal, Pontius Pilate tried to have the Roman Double Eagle Emblem installed in the Temple with terrible results.  The Jewish people opposed this and we quite willing to die right then and there.  Pilate retreated from this attempt to violate the sacred precincts and sought other courses to humiliate the Jewish people.

The Sages record for us in the Talmud that the Menorah had a three-legged base with no images on it.  They are adamant about it.  Some speculation of how the Titus base came into being suggests that the Menorah base was damaged during the War and that Titus commissioned for a new pedestal to be made.  Just the inclusion of the pagan imagery on the base defiles the Menorah and exempts it from any sacred use.

However it served Titus’ purposes well.  His triumphal entry with it and the Temple Sefer Torah in Roman hands showed the world that Israel and it’s religion had gone into exile by Roman efforts.  At least that is what it appears on the surface.  In reality, this pagan Menorah cannot represent Judaism or Israel in it’s truest sense.  At the announcement that Israel had officially adopted the Titus Menorah as the symbol for the new Israeli state, Rabbi Herzog protested on both religious and archeological grounds:

“It is not good what our government does today. Just as we have merited once again the light of Zion that is symbolized by the Menorah, the state chose specifically the image of the Menorah that is on Titus’s Arch, which, it appears, was altered by foreigners…”

But Israel’s choice I believe foretells of their future destiny.  In choosing a fraudulent pagan Menorah over the true Menorah of the beit HaMikdash, the unbelieving modern secularist government has chosen the Menorah of Exile, one which is carried and controlled and altered by the Gentile World.  This is not the true reality.   The true Menorah represents the Light of HaShem which illuminates the hearts and minds of the Jewish nation as a chosen vessel to humanity.

The modern Israeli Democratic government will itself go into exile and be replaced by the True Menorah which is the Light of Israel.  This will be the restoration of the 12 tribed  Davidic Kingdom which the Mashiach will bring in when he comes.  We live in truly remarkable times.  We have an opportunity to see the culmination of what the prophets foretold.   Let us meet it with humbleness and hope.

THE CRUCIBLE

The Ominious Beat of Distant War Drums Beats ever Louder

Philistine FlagWhat is happening to Israel can be described as a crucible, a metallurgical term for a  container for a heat-resistant container in which ores or metals are melted and impurities are removed.  It is also metaphorically a severe trial, ordeal or place or set of circumstances where people or things are subjected to forces that test them and often make them change.  And change is what Israel must do.  It is confronted by a changing world around it, who see (incorrectly) Israel as a stumbling block to peace or some diseased organism that must be removed from the landscape.  The war drums are beating louder and loader.  The Muslim world is erupting throughout the Middle East.  Egypt regularly incites it’s people to murder Jews and Israeli’s.  Iran is a growing nuclear threat, that must be dealt with quickly.  Hamas seeing that it’s Syrian sponsor may not be in power much longer is trying to make peace with Fatah in a last ditch attempt to establish a Philistine state and ultimately destroy Israel.  In a few days the PA will try to push the UN into announcing a new terrorist state in Israel’s backyard.  And now Turkey is threatening Israel militarily.

In what can only be described as a deliberate attempt to bring about a confrontation with the Jewish state, the Erdogan government sharply ratcheted up its threat of war on Israel Monday, Sept. 12 with a report that three Turkish Navy frigates are to sail for the eastern Mediterranean “to ensure freedom of navigation and confront Israeli warships if necessary.”
Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan : “If Turkish warships encounter an Israeli military ship outside Israel’s 12-mile territorial waters, they will advance up to 100 meters from the ship and disable its weapon system.”

The threat bluntly applied to Israel’s naval enforcement of its UN-approved blockade of the Gaza Strip. Debkafile’s military sources report that this is more than a threat of belligerence against Israeli naval shipping; it is also an attempt to dictate the terms of its threatened military engagement at sea with Israel and arbitrarily lay down the outer limits of Israel’s territorial waters. One of its goals is to deprive Israel’s deep sea gas wells of naval protection. [Source – Debkafile.com]

It appears that Turkey is facing off with Israel to position itself as the lead Islamic nation against Israel, a position coveted by Iran.  Turkey, if one remembers their history was once the Islamic Ottoman empire and place of the Khalifah (Caliphate).  Are the unified Muslim hordes set to begin to march again?  We could yet see the march of the army of the Black Flags, but that may yet be some time off, God permitting.

While this information appears to give Turkey a somewhat upper hand, and the number of submarines currently active in Israeli inventory may seem small, but the Dolphin class submarines are indeed very formidable platforms.  There are no guarantee’s in war, and the IDF has shown itself to be very resilient and formidable.  Plus the will of HaShem adds a certain bit of uncertainty to Turkey’s chances of overcoming Israel’s naval forces.
