Jerusalem is Jewish

While we have spent some time speaking about the upcoming US Presidential Elections and other matters relating to it it, we are a blog about Israel in Prophecy (past & present) and that is our primary focus.  But we feel that cover America politics is an important part of the picture given the past relationship that Israel and the USA have had.   And since the election of Barak Obama, that relationship has been stressed, almost to the limit.  As an American, however, I am appalled at the hard line that the Obama Regime has taken against HaShem’s anointed people and especially against the Land and the Eternal City – Jerusalem.

This vile man, our president would give the heritage of Israel to those who regularly defile it and themselves.  There are many reports of riots at the mosque on the Temple Mount, some which have been documented and reported by Israel in Prophecy.  Most of those who express sympathy for the Palestinian cause, have never met a real Palestinian and their support is based on a misguided emotional appeal based on Media lies and half-truths.  Having visited Israel in 2010 during Pesach, I came into contact with many Palestinians.  I did not stay in the normal accommodations that tourists frequent but chose to stay in the Shomron area ( ancient Samaria) at Karnei Shomron.   This afforded me the opportunity to see and visit various Jewish and Palestinian towns in the area.  After spending almost 3 weeks there, I reached a interesting conclusion based on what I saw.   While I met many different Palestinians, both decent folks and haters, this was not unusual.  This could be said of countless races and ethnicities.  The revelation for me was how they treated the land.   There was a stark contrast between Jewish homes and villages and Palestinian ones, sometimes just over the hill.  Everywhere in the Shomron and Judea, Jewish homes and villages, no matter how old or how new bore the signs of life.  Jews of Samaria and Judea always kept there villages clean and welcoming.  There were always trees, flowers and bushes of all types being planted.  Even the home of a so-called settler who had only a tent to live in, planted saplings and flowers around his property.  By contrast, Palestinian villages and homes were dingy, with little effort to plant trees, flowers, bushes or to make the area warm and inviting.

This one thing shows who the real owners of Israel are.  Every landlord knows most tenant don’t or won’t care for their property the way they themselves would.  As landowners we are continually trying to improve our property – to make it warm and inviting, a place one would call home.

To my brother Jews and Israelis I would remind you that while our repressive government would see your heritage given to a base and undeserving people, individual Americans of many backgrounds and stripes are supportive of your righteous struggle to regain all of your biblical heritage including every inch of Judea and Samaria.  Many of us acknowledge that Jerusalem is the eternal capital of the Jewish state and will be the capital of the regathered 12 tribe nation under a Davidic king in the future.  As a Jew my heart yearns for a Jerusalem where all people’s, but especially Jews, may pray on the Temple Mount where there will be a rebuilt Temple – a House of Prayer for all Peoples.  As Jews, we have a God-ordained right to the Temple Mount, which was and still is the spiritual center of Judaism.

The follow article by Eli Hertz is a reminder of the place Jerusalem holds in the heart of a Jew:

“Jerusalem, wrote historian Martin Gilbert, is not a ‘mere’ city. “It holds the central spiritual and physical place in the history of the Jews as a people.”

For more than 3,000 years, the Jewish people have looked to Jerusalem as their spiritual, political, and historical capital, even when they did not physically rule over the city. Throughout its long history, Jerusalem has served, and still serves, as the political capital of only one nation – the one belonging to the Jews. Its prominence in Jewish history began in 1004 BCE, when King David declared the city the capital of the first Jewish kingdom. David’s successor and son, King Solomon, built the First Temple there, according to the Bible, as a holy place to worship the Almighty. Unfortunately, history would not be kind to the Jewish people. Four hundred and ten years after King Solomon completed construction of Jerusalem, the Babylonians (early ancestors to today’s Iraqis) seized and destroyed the city, forcing the Jews into exile. [end of article]

Fifty years later, the Jews, or Israelites as they were called, were permitted to return after Persia (present-day Iran) conquered Babylon. The Jews’ first order of business was to reclaim Jerusalem as their capital and rebuild the Holy Temple, recorded in history as the Second Temple.

Jerusalem was more than the Jewish kingdom’s political capital – it was a spiritual beacon. During the First and Second Temple periods, Jews throughout the kingdom would travel to Jerusalem three times yearly for the pilgrimages of the Jewish holy days of Sukkot, Passover, and Shavuot, until the Roman Empire destroyed the Second Temple in 70 CE and ended Jewish sovereignty over Jerusalem for the next 2,000 years. Despite that fate, Jews never relinquished their bond to Jerusalem or, for that matter, to Eretz Yisrael, the Land of Israel.

No matter where Jews lived throughout the world for those two millennia, their thoughts and prayers were directed toward Jerusalem. Even today, whether in Israel, the United States or anywhere else, Jewish ritual practice, holiday celebration and life-cycle events include recognition of Jerusalem as a core element of the Jewish experience. Consider that:

•         Jews in prayer always turn toward Jerusalem.

•         Arks (the sacred chests) that hold Torah scrolls in synagogues throughout the world face Jerusalem.

•         Jews end Passover Seders each year with the words: “Next year in Jerusalem”; the same words are pronounced at the end of Yom Kippur, the most solemn day of the Jewish year.

•         A three-week moratorium on weddings in the summer recalls the breaching of the walls of Jerusalem by the Babylonian army in 586 BCE. That period culminates in a special day of mourning – Tisha B’Av (the 9th day of the Hebrew month Av) – commemorating the destruction of both the First and Second Temples.

•         Jewish wedding ceremonies – joyous occasions, are marked by sorrow over the loss of Jerusalem. The groom recites a biblical verse from the Babylonian Exile: “If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning,”and breaks a glass in commemoration of the destruction of the Temples.

Even body language, often said to tell volumes about a person, reflects the importance of Jerusalem to Jews as a people and, arguably, the lower priority the city holds for Muslims:

•         When Jews pray they face Jerusalem; in Jerusalem Israelis pray facing the Temple Mount.

•         When Muslims pray, they face Mecca; in Jerusalem Muslims pray with their backs to the city.

•         Even at burial, a Muslim face, is turned toward Mecca.

Finally, consider the number of times ‘Jerusalem’ is mentioned in the two religions’ holy books:

•         The Old Testament mentions ‘Jerusalem’ 349 times. Zion, another name for ‘Jerusalem,’ is mentioned 108 times.

•         The Quran never mentions Jerusalem – not even once.

Even when others controlled Jerusalem, Jews maintained a physical presence in the city, despite being persecuted and impoverished. Before the advent of modern Zionism in the 1880s, Jews were moved by a form of religious Zionism to live in the Holy Land, settling particularly in four holy cities: Safed, Tiberias, Hebron, and most importantly – Jerusalem. Consequently, Jews constituted a majority of the city’s population for generations. In 1898, “In this City of the Jews, where the Jewish population outnumbers all others three to one …” Jews constituted 75 percent of the Old City population in what Secretary-General Kofi Annan called ‘East Jerusalem.’ In 1914, when the Ottoman Turks ruled the city, 45,000 Jews made up a majority of the 65,000 residents. And at the time of Israeli statehood in 1948, 100,000 Jews lived in the city, compared to only 65,000 Arabs. Prior to unification, Jordanian-controlled ‘East Jerusalem’ was a mere 6 square kilometers, compared to 38 square kilometers on the ‘Jewish side.’

PM Netanyahu’s Speech at the UN General Assembly – January 2012

PM Netanyahu’s Speech at the UN General Assembly

Mr. President, Ladies and Gentlemen,
Nearly 62 years ago, the United Nations recognized the right of the Jews, an ancient people 3,500 years-old, to a state of their own in their ancestral homeland. I stand here today as the Prime Minister of Israel, the Jewish state, and I speak to you on behalf of my country and my people. The United Nations was founded after the carnage of World War II and the horrors of the Holocaust. It was charged with preventing the recurrence of such horrendous events. Nothing has undermined that central mission more than the systematic assault on the truth. Yesterday the President of Iran stood at this very podium, spewing his latest anti-Semitic rants. Just a few days earlier, he again claimed that the Holocaust is a lie.
Last month, I went to a villa in a suburb of Berlin called Wannsee. There, on January 20, 1942 , after a hearty meal, senior Nazi officials met and decided how to exterminate the Jewish people. The detailed minutes of that meeting have been preserved by successive German governments. Here is a copy of those minutes, in which the Nazis issued precise instructions on how to carry out the extermination of the Jews. Is this a lie? A day before I was in Wannsee, I was given in Berlin the original construction plans for the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp. Those plans are signed by Hitler’s deputy, Heinrich Himmler himself. Here is a copy of the plans for Auschwitz-Birkenau, where one million Jews were murdered. Is this too a lie? This June, President Obama visited the Buchenwald concentration camp. Did President Obama pay tribute to a lie?And what of the Auschwitz survivors whose arms still bear the tattooed numbers branded on them by the Nazis? Are those tattoos a lie? One-third of all Jews perished in the conflagration. Nearly every Jewish family was affected, including my own. My wife’s grandparents, her father’s two sisters and three brothers, and all the aunts, uncles and cousins were all murdered by the Nazis. Is that also a lie?
Yesterday, the man who calls the Holocaust a lie spoke from this podium. To those who refused to come here and to those who left this room in protest, I commend you. You stood up for moral clarity and you brought honor to your countries. But to those who gave this Holocaust-denier a hearing, I say on behalf of my people, the Jewish people, and decent people everywhere: Have you no shame? Have you no decency? A mere six decades after the Holocaust, you give legitimacy to a man who denies that the murder of six million Jews took place and pledges to wipe out the Jewish state. What a disgrace! What a mockery of the charter of the United Nations! Perhaps some of you think that this man and his odious regime threaten only the Jews. You’re wrong. History has shown us time and again that what starts with attacks on the Jews eventually ends up engulfing many others. This Iranian regime is fueled by an extreme fundamentalism that burst onto the world scene three decades ago after lying dormant for centuries.
In the past thirty years, this fanaticism has swept the globe with a murderous violence and cold-blooded impartiality in its choice of victims. It has callously slaughtered Moslems and Christians, Jews and Hindus, and many others. Though it is comprised of different offshoots, the adherents of this unforgiving creed seek to return humanity to medieval times. Wherever they can, they impose a backward regimented society where women, minorities, gays or anyone not deemed to be a true believer is brutally subjugated. The struggle against this fanaticism does not pit faith against faith nor civilization against civilization. It pits civilization against barbarism, the 21st century against the 9th century, those who sanctify life against those who glorify death. The primitivism of the 9th century ought to be no match for the progress of the 21st century. The allure of freedom, the power of technology, the reach of communications should surely win the day.
Ultimately, the past cannot triumph over the future. And the future offers all nations magnificent bounties of hope. The pace of progress is growing exponentially. It took us centuries to get from the printing press to the telephone, decades to get from the telephone to the personal computer, and only a few years to get from the personal computer to the internet. What seemed impossible a few years ago is already outdated, and we can scarcely fathom the changes that are yet to come. We will crack the genetic code. We will cure the incurable. We will lengthen our lives. We will find a cheap alternative to fossil fuels and clean up the planet. I am proud that my country Israelis at the forefront of these advances – by leading innovations in science and technology, medicine and biology, agriculture and water, energy and the environment. These innovations the world over offer humanity a sunlit future of unimagined promise.
But if the most primitive fanaticism can acquire the most deadly weapons, the march of history could be reversed for a time. And like the belated victory over the Nazis, the forces of progress and freedom will prevail only after an horrific toll of blood and fortune has been exacted from mankind. That is why the greatest threat facing the world today is the marriage between religious fanaticism and the weapons of mass destruction. The most urgent challenge facing this body is to prevent the tyrants of Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons. Are the member states of the United Nations up to that challenge?
Will the international community confront a despotism that terrorizes its own people as they bravely stand up for freedom? Will it take action against the dictators who stole an election in broad daylight and gunned down Iranian protesters who died in the streets choking in their own blood? Will the international community thwart the world’s most pernicious sponsors and practitioners of terrorism? Above all, will the international community stop the terrorist regime of Iran from developing atomic weapons, thereby endangering the peace of the entire world? The people of Iran are courageously standing up to this regime. People of goodwill around the world stand with them, as do the thousands who have been protesting outside this hall. Will the United Nations stand by their side?
Ladies and Gentlemen, The jury is still out on the United Nations, and recent signs are not encouraging. Rather than condemning the terrorists and their Iranian patrons, some here have condemned their victims. That is exactly what a recent UN report on Gaza did, falsely equating the terrorists with those they targeted. For eight long years, Hamas fired from Gaza thousands of missiles, mortars and rockets on nearby Israeli cities. Year after year, as these missiles were deliberately hurled at our civilians, not a single UN resolution was passed condemning those criminal attacks. We heard nothing – absolutely nothing – from the UN Human Rights Council, a misnamed institution if there ever was one. In 2005, hoping to advance peace,Israel unilaterally withdrew from every inch of Gaza . It dismantled 21 settlements and uprooted over 8,000 Israelis. We didn’t get peace. Instead we got an Iranian backed terror base fifty miles from Tel Aviv. Life in Israeli towns and cities next to Gaza became a nightmare. You see, the Hamas rocket attacks not only continued, they increased tenfold. Again, the UN was silent.
Finally, after eight years of this unremitting assault, Israel was finally forced to respond. But how should we have responded? Well, there is only one example in history of thousands of rockets being fired on a country’s civilian population. It happened when the Nazis rocketed British cities during World War II. During that war, the allies leveled German cities, causing hundreds of thousands of casualties. Israel chose to respond differently. Faced with an enemy committing a double war crime of firing on civilians while hiding behind civilians -Israel sought to conduct surgical strikes against the rocket launchers. That was no easy task because the terrorists were firing missiles from homes and schools, using mosques as weapons depots and ferreting explosives in ambulances. Israel , by contrast, tried to minimize casualties by urging Palestinian civilians to vacate the targeted areas. We dropped countless flyers over their homes, sent thousands of text messages and called thousands of cell phones asking people to leave. Never has a country gone to such extraordinary lengths to remove the enemy’s civilian population from harm’s way. Yet faced with such a clear case of aggressor and victim, who did the UN Human Rights Council decide to condemn?Israel. A democracy legitimately defending itself against terror is morally hanged, drawn and quartered, and given an unfair trial to boot.
By these twisted standards, the UN Human Rights Council would have dragged Roosevelt and Churchill to the dock as war criminals. What a perversion of truth. What a perversion of justice. Delegates of the United Nations, Will you accept this farce? Because if you do, the United Nations would revert to its darkest days, when the worst violators of human rights sat in judgment against the law-abiding democracies, when Zionism was equated with racism and when an automatic majority could declare that the earth is flat. If this body does not reject this report, it would send a message to terrorists everywhere: Terror pays; if you launch your attacks from densely populated areas, you will win immunity. And in condemning Israel , this body would also deal a mortal blow to peace. Here’s why. When Israel left Gaza , many hoped that the missile attacks would stop. Others believed that at the very least, Israel would have international legitimacy to exercise its right of self-defense. What legitimacy? What self-defense?
The same UN that cheered Israel as it left Gaza and promised to back our right of self-defense now accuses us -my people, my country – of war crimes? And for what? For acting responsibly in self-defense. What a travesty! Israel justly defended itself against terror. This biased and unjust report is a clear-cut test for all governments. Will you stand with Israel or will you stand with the terrorists? We must know the answer to that question now. Now and not later. Because if Israelis again asked to take more risks for peace, we must know today that you will stand with us tomorrow. Only if we have the confidence that we can defend ourselves can we take further risks for peace.Ladies and Gentlemen, All of Israel wants peace.
Any time an Arab leader genuinely wanted peace with us, we made peace. We made peace with Egypt led by Anwar Sadat. We made peace with Jordan led by King Hussein. And if the Palestinians truly want peace, I and my government, and the people of Israel , will make peace. But we want a genuine peace, a defensible peace, a permanent peace. In 1947, this body voted to establish two states for two peoples – a Jewish state and an Arab state. The Jews accepted that resolution. The Arabs rejected it. We ask the Palestinians to finally do what they have refused to do for 62 years: Say yes to a Jewish state. Just as we are asked to recognize a nation-state for the Palestinian people, the Palestinians must be asked to recognize the nation state of the Jewish people.
The Jewish people are not foreign conquerors in the Land of Israel . This is the land of our forefathers. Inscribed on the walls outside this building is the great Biblical vision of peace: “Nation shall not lift up sword against nation. They shall learn war no more.” These words were spoken by the Jewish prophet Isaiah 2,800 years ago as he walked in my country, in my city, in the hills of Judea and in the streets of Jerusalem . We are not strangers to this land. It is our homeland. As deeply connected as we are to this land, we recognize that the Palestinians also live there and want a home of their own. We want to live side by side with them, two free peoples living in peace, prosperity and dignity.
But we must have security. The Palestinians should have all the powers to govern themselves except those handful of powers that could endanger Israel . That is why a Palestinian state must be effectively demilitarized. We don’t want another Gaza , another Iranian backed terror base abutting Jerusalem and perched on the hills a few kilometers from Tel Aviv. We want peace. I believe such a peace can be achieved. But only if we roll back the forces of terror, led by Iran , that seek to destroy peace, eliminate Israel and overthrow the world order. The question facing the international community is whether it is prepared to confront those forces or accommodate them.
Over seventy years ago, Winston Churchill lamented what he called the “confirmed unteachability of mankind,” the unfortunate habit of civilized societies to sleep until danger nearly overtakes them. Churchill bemoaned what he called the “want of foresight, the unwillingness to act when action will be simple and effective, the lack of clear thinking, the confusion of counsel until emergency comes, until self-preservation strikes its jarring gong.”
I speak here today in the hope that Churchill’s assessment of the “unteachability of mankind” is for once proven wrong. I speak here today in the hope that we can learn from history — that we can prevent danger in time. In the spirit of the timeless words spoken to Joshua over 3,000 years ago, let us be strong and of good courage. Let us confront this peril, secure our future and, God willing, forge an enduring peace for generations to come.

Rumors of Gog Magog

The world is perhaps standing on the edge of the abyss and is virtually on brink of another major war. One which may kick off in Iran. Though sources may disagree on when the conflict would begin, most are convinced that it will begin.  And will surely draw Russia into the conflict.

In a report on Pravda.ru,  Anton Krivenyuk of the Georgia Times  believes the war may begin when Israel strikes Iran’s nuclear weapons capability. The United States has been drumming up ‘war fever’ here in the USA and the Obama regime’ will support the attack. If it happens, the new large-scale regional war will become inevitable.

Therefore, many countries in the region will support Iran either directly or by implication. In particular, it goes about China. Chinese President Hu Jintao stated that if the USA or any other country attacked Iran, China would take responsive measures immediately. As for Moscow, sources at Russia’s Defense Ministry said that the forces in the region had already been mobilized in case of a possible war.  In a previous post we demonstrated the gematrial connection between China and Iran [See Article Here].

The Southern Caucasus borders on Iran. Russia’s borders are near the country too. Armenia and Azerbaijan  border on Iran as well.  Georgia Times and a scientist of politics of the Tbilisi State University (Georgia) tried to predict what consequences the armed conflict may lead to for separate countries of the region.

Georgian scientist of politics, Solomon Lebanoidze, is pessimistic about the future of the region. As he said in an interview with Georgia Times, the war in Iran is very likely to happen. “It may happen that this war may grow into World War III. No one is going to stay aside. There are many nuances here that will not give any country of the Caucasus an opportunity to remain a serene harbor,” the expert said.

It will not be possible for Russia not to be involved in the conflict and may form a military alliance with China in case of the conflict. The alliance may gradually develop into the anti-Western coalition of forces against Israel and the USA, if they get involved in the war too.

In the Tanakh, China is called – Sin.  It’s gematria is 120 (not using the sofit form of the Nun).  China has a long standing relationship with the Islamic Republic of Iran.  China has been helping them since the 1980′s with their nuclear program under the supposed umbrella of peaceful usage.  Iran’s president, Ahmadinejad  also has a gematria value of 120.   In Gematria Ketana, the zero is dropped making it the value of 12, which is the gematria of GOG.   The word time in the last day prophecy is and also equals 120 (12).

Iran’s threat to use nuclear weapons against Israel makes the likelihood of an Israeli first strike more probable, which may be Ahmadinejad’s apocalyptic end game.  If he can get Israel to strike Iran first before ‘Arab Spring Fever’ can erupt in his country, where an estimated 70% of Iranian citizens despise the regime, then an Islamic holy war will erupt in the region.  However it will remain to be seen if it will be the foretold Gog U’Magog Wars.

World Leaders Will Be In Recess During Elenin Alignment on September 26-27, 2011

September 21, 2011 – UPDATE – TAMPA, FL -In a strange coincidence of anomalies, many world leaders  and politicians will be in recess during the next alignment with ‘Comet’  Elenin.

The United Nations has an empty schedule from September 23rd  through October 10th, 2011.

The UK Parliament is in recess from September 15th  through October 10th, 2011.

The United States Congress is on vacation from September 25th  through October 2nd, 2011.

The Australian Parliament will not be sitting on those days as well.

Germany’s President’s schedule is empty after September 25,  2011.

Pope Benedict will be in Germany from September 22nd-25th, but it is unclear where he will be on September 26-27th

Conspiracy or Real Event Unfolding

For some time Israel in Prophecy has spoken about the coming of Comet Elenin on our Signs page.   Already this year  alignments of the Sun with Elenin have produced devastating earthquakes in both Chile (8.8) and in Japan (9.0). This is not Science Fiction but relatively unknown Science FACT.  Is it a coincidence that so many world governing bodies will be in recess during this time.  Even the UN who is about to hear the bid for a Palestinian state will convene that very same day.  This action would seem out of line with a world governing body such as the UN given the very explosive situation that any announcement of a Palestinian state would create on the ground in Judea and Samaria.  This fact alone would seem to tell us something much larger is at hand.

Alignment

Elenin Is HERE!The next important alignment concerning Elenin is Sept 27th, 2011 – five days from now.  The Jewish New Year, Rosh HaShana begins very close to that alignment on the 28th, the very next day.  As I mentioned previously and with a caveat, that while Christianity is not compatible with Jewish belief, their book of Revelation, approximately 1900 years old and written by a Jew foretold of a celestial alignment that would occur during the High Holy Days during a time when Israel was under persecution and attacks.

While one may debate the accuracy of Christian beliefs, as many of us do, this alignment is a real event and scheduled to occur on Sept 28, 2011 – Rosh Hashana 5772, the Jewish 2012.  You can verify this with any modern computer with any number of good Astronomy programs.  I use Stellarium.

Conspiracy Abounds

A very interesting site speaks about the world leaders absence during this time on http://in5d.com/world-leaders-will-be-in-recess-during-elenin-alignment-september-26-27-2011.html.

Check out the video’s.

With all the converging events unfolding during this time lead me to the understanding that we may very well be upon the precipice that plunges our world into a period of not only darkness and chaos but ultimately to the LIGHT of God and His ultimate purpose for humankind

The Future of the Secular Israeli State

Founder of the State of IsraelThe following post was originally posted on the 1st of September by Moriya’s Place and send to us by our friend Agatha.  Our commentary on the Modern Israeli Government is at the bottom of the post.

Rely only on Hashem, להסתמך על רק הקדוש ברוך הוא 9/01/2011 | Posted by Moriya’s Place

Countless Jews are appalled or dumbfounded. They cannot understand how a Jewish government, backed the Israel Defense Forces, could give away Judea and Samaria, the sacred heartland of the Jewish people to terrorist thugs. The Prophets and Sages of Israel predicted that, in the end of days, the Jews would have such a government. They foresaw that Israel would be ruled by “scorners” of the Torah. These scorners, said the Prophet Hosea (12:1-3), will fill Israel with lies and deception. They will strive after wind (“peace”) and make alliances with Israel’s enemies. The Prophet Isaiah (28:14-18) chastises these insolent Jews. He foretells that they will make a “covenant with death,” but that this pact will not protect them, indeed, that they will be swept away like refuse.

Remarkably, the Targum translates this pact with death as a contract with “terrorists” (mechablim)! Similarly, the Zohar (Exodus 7b) predicts that in the end of days certain Jews in Israel will make an alliance with the enemies of the Jewish people. The Israel-PLO Declaration of Principles fits this dire prediction. In the Talmud, tractate Sanhedrin (98a), we learn that in the end of days Israel will have the “cheapest” government. Only the cheapest politicians would negotiate with terrorist thugs responsible for the murder and maiming thousands of Jewish men, women, and children.

Such shamelessness should make any man of taste want to vomit. This leads me to examine the certain conclusions of Mishna Sotah (49b): With the footsteps of the Moshiach arrogance shall increase and honor dwindle. The government shall turn to heresy [such as secular humanism] and there shall be none to utter reproof. The council-chamber [the Knesset] shall be given to immorality. Galilee will be barren, the Golan shall be desolate, and the dwellers on the frontier [in Judah, Samaria, and Gaza] shall go from place to place with none to take pity on them. The wisdom of their writers [journalists and academics] will become insipid and degenerate [will become morally neutral if not anti-Jewish]; they that shun sin shall be despised. The truth shall nowhere be found [thanks to the university-bred doctrine of relativism]. Youth shall shame their elders, and the elders shall stand up in the presence of youth [a commonplace in democracies] … The face of this generation is as the face of a dog [impervious to shame]… So upon whom can we rely?

Upon our Father in heaven.

● Is it not obvious that the Jews in Israel cannot rely on the opposition parties such as Likud to save them from disaster?

● Is it not obvious, from the experience of Lebanon and Sderot, that Jews cannot rely on the Israel Defense Forces?

● Is it not obvious that Jews cannot rely on rabbis who pontificate about pikuach nefesh?

● Is it not obvious that Jews cannot rely on political and strategic analysts to stop the suicidal course of Israel’s government? ●

Is it not obvious that Jews cannot rely on the United States or on information campaigns (hasbara) to save them from the successors of the Nazis? By now it should also be obvious that it is precisely because Jews have relied on such vanities that they have been given spineless politicians who would sacrifice Eretz Yisrael for mere wind. Finally, consider Rashi’s commentary to Genesis 1:1. If the nations of the world should

and say: ‘You are robbers in that you have seized by force the territories of the seven nations,’ Israel can retort: ‘The entire world belongs to the Holy One, Blessed be He. He created it and gave it to whomsoever it was right in His eyes. It was His will to give it to them and it was His will to take it from them and give it to us.’ To whom are these words of centuries ago addressed? Surely, to Jews in Israel today.

But no Israeli government has ever uttered these words. Nor has any religious party in any Israeli government ever made such words its clarion call! You will say: “But the nations will mock these words and laugh at us.” I reply: Have countless appeals to “security” won the supportive concern of the nations? Have ingratiating words about “Israeli democracy” earned the respect of the democratic world? Has willingness to yield “territory for peace” appeased the voracious appetites of Janus-faced Arab despots? Is not Israel despised by the nations no matter how yielding it has been in the “peace process”? I dare say that it is precisely because Jews have not based their claim to Eretz Yisrael exclusively on Rashi’s commentary to Genesis 1:1 that Israel is so often disdained and condemned by the nations! I am not saying that citing Rashi will convince any nation that the Jews have a G-d given title to Eretz Yisrael. The task of the Jews is not to convince the nations of anything! That happens to be the compulsion or futility of assimilated Jews.

Too many Jews—religious included—want to win the approval of the nations rather than the approval of G-d. Legions of religious Jews rely more on politicians and political rhetoric than on the Torah and on the G-d of Israel. This is why the above Mishna indicates that in the end of days, when we have exhausted the heresies of our time and are utterly helpless, that we shall turn to our Father in heaven. This is not a counsel of despair. It is a plea for rational analysis. Stop relying like addicts on failed ideas and flawed politicians. Start proclaiming that G-d alone has given us title to Eretz Yisrael—and never mind the scorners! Just do it and leave the consequences to G-d, Who alone is the Master of war and peace.

Secular Israel Foretold it’s Own Destiny in 1948

We have all seen the great Menorah depicted on Titus’ Arch.  A 7 – branched candelabra supported by a stepped base.  It is without doubt the most famous depictions of the Temple Menorah.  On the Arch the triumphant Roman soldiers cart away the Temple Menorah, showing the power of the Roman State.

When the modern secular Jewish State sought a symbol to represent the new Jewish state, this menorah was chosen, after much debate and consideration.  At first, this would seem appropriate to the unlearned – the Menorah has in the past been the symbol of the Jewish people.  But the depiction of the Menorah on Titus’s Arch is a fraud, a forgery.  One only need to look at the base or pedestal to see the idolatrous images of dragons carved into the pedestal.  There is no possible way that this pedestal ever sat in the Second Temple.  Just years before it’s removal, Pontius Pilate tried to have the Roman Double Eagle Emblem installed in the Temple with terrible results.  The Jewish people opposed this and we quite willing to die right then and there.  Pilate retreated from this attempt to violate the sacred precincts and sought other courses to humiliate the Jewish people.

The Sages record for us in the Talmud that the Menorah had a three-legged base with no images on it.  They are adamant about it.  Some speculation of how the Titus base came into being suggests that the Menorah base was damaged during the War and that Titus commissioned for a new pedestal to be made.  Just the inclusion of the pagan imagery on the base defiles the Menorah and exempts it from any sacred use.

However it served Titus’ purposes well.  His triumphal entry with it and the Temple Sefer Torah in Roman hands showed the world that Israel and it’s religion had gone into exile by Roman efforts.  At least that is what it appears on the surface.  In reality, this pagan Menorah cannot represent Judaism or Israel in it’s truest sense.  At the announcement that Israel had officially adopted the Titus Menorah as the symbol for the new Israeli state, Rabbi Herzog protested on both religious and archeological grounds:

“It is not good what our government does today. Just as we have merited once again the light of Zion that is symbolized by the Menorah, the state chose specifically the image of the Menorah that is on Titus’s Arch, which, it appears, was altered by foreigners…”

But Israel’s choice I believe foretells of their future destiny.  In choosing a fraudulent pagan Menorah over the true Menorah of the beit HaMikdash, the unbelieving modern secularist government has chosen the Menorah of Exile, one which is carried and controlled and altered by the Gentile World.  This is not the true reality.   The true Menorah represents the Light of HaShem which illuminates the hearts and minds of the Jewish nation as a chosen vessel to humanity.

The modern Israeli Democratic government will itself go into exile and be replaced by the True Menorah which is the Light of Israel.  This will be the restoration of the 12 tribed  Davidic Kingdom which the Mashiach will bring in when he comes.  We live in truly remarkable times.  We have an opportunity to see the culmination of what the prophets foretold.   Let us meet it with humbleness and hope.

Imminent War?

As we draw nearer and nearer to the September 20th  PA bid for statehood, Israel is being placed into a anvil of sorts, trying to crush her and her will to resist world opinion to establish an wicked regime as the sovereign ruler of land they have absolutely no right to.  In the last weeks we have seen a up tick in terror attacks, sword rattling and open hostlity.  From calls in Egypt to murder Jews in the streets to a complete diplomatic breakdown between Turkey and Israel.

Lazer Beams, a very popular blog by Rabbi Lazer Brody printed a very enlightening article, reprinted here:

Is Israel on the Brink of War?

Back in Rosh Hashana eve of 1973, Moshe Dayan and Golda Meir reassured a complacent Israeli public still drunk from the miraculous 1967 Six-Day War victory, “We’ve never been stronger! The Arabs wouldn’t dream of attacking.” On Yom Kippur of 1973, Syria and Egypt launched a two-prong surprise attack that brought Israel to its knees. Moshe Dayan was the first one to have a panic attack. Hashem saved us by a bigger miracle than 1967. Those of us who fought in that war can testify first hand.

Exactly 38 years later, we are in the same exact position. Only this time, the Arab noose is umpteen times more dangerous. Iran will have an A-bomb any day now. Al Qaida has taken over Sinai and our once quiet border with Egypt is now a powder keg.  Turkey, our newest (old) enemy, i moving ships into our side of the Mediterranean. Hamas in Gaza has dangerous new Iranian and Libyan weapons, including bunker busters. Syria and Hizbulla have the nastiest chemical warheads, something beyond Satan’s imagination.

One honest IDF commander –  Home Front Command chief Maj. Gen. Eyal Eisenberg – said we must prepare for imminent war. Defense Minister Barak and company say that Eisenberg is exaggerating. Minister Yaalon is now joining the bandwagon of complacency too, saying, “No war in sight.” These politicians are spiritually deaf and blind, hearing none of Hashem’s wakeup calls.

My beloved teacher and spiritual guide, Rav Shalom Arush shlit’a, called me urgently to come see him today – he rarely does that, for we usually meet at regular intervals. He told me that his spiritual guide – the holy hidden Kabbalist Rabbi Yehuda Zev Leibowitz of saintly memory – came to him in a dream last night and said that in Heaven, all-out war against Israel has been decreed, a war which is supposed to break out before Rosh Hashana, in other words, within the next 3 weeks.

But, don’t be afraid. Hashem does love us and wants to be with us. But, we must be worthy of the Divine Presence. Rav Shalom told me that every single Jew must begin doing serious teshuva and self-assessment while begging Hashem to delay this harsh decree. I asked Rav Shalom, “Why pray for a delay? Why not pray for a total cancellation?” Rav Shalom said the delay is to allow more people to make teshuva. A cancellation is almost impossible, because it’s part of Hashem’s plan to bring Moshiach, in the nearest future. Once Moshiach comes, teshuva will be worthless. Today, teshuva is still worth it’s weight in diamonds. But time is running out super-fast.

I know that this post may earn me the status of the village idiot. But it’s worth it if even one family heeds me. There is little time left. Forget about the new furniture and the new jewelry. We must all raise our voices in such a manner that the Heavenly Throne shudders. This is Nineveh 2011. Please, if you love your spouse and your children, start speaking to Hashem for an hour a day. Personal prayer invokes phenomenal Divine compassion, because it’s a strong expression of emuna. Rav Shalom says, if you believe in Hashem, you speak to Him. If you don’t believe in Him, then you don’t speak. Let’s all start speaking before it’s too late.

While I would never encourage any Jew to follow Christianity or believe in their Jesus, an interesting text out of the Christian bible (the book of Revelation) foretells of a time (both then and now) when an all out war against Israel will take place at a time when the Constellation Betulah (Virgo) is seen with the moon at her feet, an alignment that occurs every so often.  This alignment will be seen again on September 28 2011, the first day of Rosh Hashana, which the holy rabbi’s tell us in not only the beginning of a new year, but also a day of judgement and warning, noted by the blasting of the shofar.

This text also speaks of war, one which begins in Heaven.  The text also proclaims that the Woman (Israel) will be protected for 3 1/2 years from the dragon.  The scripture (Tanakh) tells us in the writing of Zechariah that Israel/Jerusalem will be attacked and that part of the attacking force are in part Jews!  As I wrote earlier, many christians believe there will be another holocaust where two thirds of the Jewish people in the land will be destroyed.  This I believe to be wrong.  The texts in Zechariah say that there are three parts, two of which will perish.  The demographics in Israel can be broken down into three primary groups of people – Secular Jews with no belief in God or Torah, the usurping Palestinians, and, lastly the Torah faithful Jews of the Land.

Could the prophet be telling us, that at some point during this Gog Magog war(s) that HaShem himself will deliver the third group and eliminated the other two?  I say it is not only possible but likely.  I think we still have time, especially during the current season of teshuvah that Elul represents.  While some people may consider the honorable rabbi as the village idiot, I say that his words are a reminder that there still is hope, there is always hope.   May we all heed his words.
