Looming Financial Doom

Recently, as was announced by the Bought and Sold Press, the Palestinian Authority was granted membership in the United Nations UNESCO.  The announcement was lauded as a break through for the PA and cheered by the UN and those who want to see the PA established as a parasite nation.  The PA vowed it was applying for membership to 16 other UN organizations in celebration of it’s PR victory.  That celebration however encouraging to the Palestinians is to be short-lived.

Fast forward to today November 3rd, 2011.   In a surprising reversal, Ban Ki Moon, the UN General Secretary announced  that the PA should be content with what they have gained and not seek membership in other UN organizations.  This is coming from a man who has encouraged the Palestinians in their political plans until now.  So why the change of heart?  Money, Money, Money.

After UNESCO accepted the PA as a member, the United States, Canada and Israel cut-off funding the organization.  The United States and Canada supply 30% of it’s operating budget.  The US gives about 64 million annually to UNESCO.  Israel is also cutting off it’s 2 million dollar aid as well.   Ban Ki Moon is trying to head off a financial collapse by discouraging the PA from further membership in it’s organizations.  The United States by law, cannot support any UN organization that has the PA as a member.  Personally, I hope the PA applies for membership in all the UN organizations.   The US should not be funding that morally bankrupt monster with even $1 US dollar.  The building should be vacated of the riffraff and used for American interests (US citizens, not US Gov.)

Without warning, Lloyd’s, the world’s oldest insurer announced that it has withdrawn its money from European banks.  According to Lloyd’s, the banks are in danger of failing as the debt crisis in Europe continues to intensify. The company’s Finance Director, Luke Savage, put it simply:

“If you’re worried the government itself might be at risk, then you’re certainly worried the banks could be taken down with them.”

Which European governments is Lloyd’s speaking of? They’re not saying publicly. But we should note that Lloyd’s didn’t just withdraw its money from only Greek banks; it withdrew its money from banks from all over the European BlocWhen the world’s oldest insurance company, a firm that for 323 years has made its living by accurately calculating the odds of future disasters . When that company suddenly takes its money and runs, it’s a MASSIVE red flag for investors— a clear signal that the start of the end is near!

Lloyd’s has every reason to worry. In addition to the government debt crisis that’s threatening to destroy European banks, a huge credit crisis is spreading across the Continent as well.  Spanish and Italian banks are rejecting massive numbers of loans and charging customers more as the sovereign debt crisis continues to drive their own borrowing cost higher.  Any way you look at it, this shrinking of European credit markets is the worst kind of downward spiral:

  • The government debt crisis is making it harder and more expensive for banks to borrow money; the banks are passing those higher costs along to borrowers.
  • Corporations have to pay more to borrow; their cost of doing business is rising.
  • Consumers can’t or won’t borrow at higher rates, so corporate earnings plunge.
  • As corporate earnings evaporate, the taxes they pay also plummet.
  • Falling tax revenues cause the government’s deficits to explode higher, driving the banks’ cost of borrowing even higher.

The EU (European Union) gives the PA about $90 million a year.   The looming financial disaster may cause a shortfall of cash, not only for UN who receives billions in dues from it’s member nations, but the PA as well as the crisis further develops.   As this crisis hits the US, the estimated $150 million that we give to the PA could dwindle and disappear.   This could stall the PA/Hamas political agenda, at least in some respect. One can only hope and dream.  But time can only tell.

The UN and the Prophecy of Zechariah

Zechariah and the Fight over Jerusalem

Will Jews Fight Against Jews?

As the upcoming 2011 United Nations General assembly draws nears and the prospects for an announcement of a Palestinian State galvanize, a study of the Prophet Zechariah brings to light a terrifying possibility.  Zechariah foretells  that Jews may possibly take part in a siege against the holy city Jerusalem.  I say may because all prophecy can be changed with repentance.  But this assault on Jerusalem is becoming more and more sure as the Palestinian Authority steels itself to push the UN to unilaterally announce a Palestinian state outside the Oslo Accords.  Israel has threatened to cancel any aid to the PA if they move forward with this plan.  Members of the Knesset have threatened to make the annexation of Judea and Samaria official as well.  President Obama is also pressuring Israel to relinquish it’s rights in the dispute.

Remember Gush Katif

One can only imagine what thoughts are running through the minds of the men and women of the IDF, as the prospect of having to once again remove Jews from their homes looms only to real.  In fact the secular mixed multitude government is trying to insure that those in the IDF who are sympathetic to the Jews in Judea and Samaria are re-assigned or side-lined in case they are ordered to forcibly remove Israeli citizens from their homes so that the real Philistine invaders can occupy our land.

Possible Scenario

The following potential scenario that could play out after the announcement of a PA state:

Once the official announcement is made, the PA will call for Israel to remove it’s citizens from ‘their’ land.  It is highly unlikely that Israel will do so, at least not in the beginning.  There will be some ongoing sword-rattling between the two and any talks may indeed break down, stalling any expulsions for weeks or even months.  Eventually the UN body will pass a resolution requiring Israel to remove itself from the new Philistine state or face invasion.  Prophetically this appears to be the case.

Zechariah states that HaShem will ‘gather all the nations to Jerusalem for the war,’ [Zech.14:2].  Obviously not all the nations can actually gather their armies physically in the land of Israel.  But a representative collection of armies under UN control certainly fits the bill.  In verse 14:14 we also find that, “…Judah will wage war against Jerusalem…” which appears to indicate that at least some of the IDF will participate in wresting control of Jerusalem from the Jewish residents and sending 1/2 of the city into exile [Zech.14:2].

The Mashiach

While the above scenario is a tragic, Zechariah offers hope to the nation and ultimately deliverance.  It is interesting how the events of Zechariah 12-14 are arranged.  Chapter 12 states that HaShem is making Jerusalem a cup of poison, a burdensome stone for all the people’s, which is certainly true.  The nations at large have taken up the call to make Jerusalem the capital of the new Palestinian state, even though such actions violate international law and treaties.  Zechariah 12:2 also tells us that Jews will participate in the siege against Jerusalem.

Gog Magog ArmiesInserted between chapters 12 and 14, which speak of the war against Israel and Jerusalem, are events that demonstrate a significant change in Israeli society.  Chapter 13 speaks of a time of cleansing and purification for the house of David and for the citizens of Jerusalem.  It is likely that the Mashiach is revealed to the nation, who is possibly  preceded by Eliyahu, who according to Malachi, is a purifying fire that helps to cleanse Israel and prepare for the End of Days.  At that time the idols are removed from the land and false prophets (Christianity? Islam?) are removed as well.  Verse 7 tells us that HaShem’s colleague is slain.  This tells us that the Mashiach is killed during this invasion, which de-moralizes the Jewish people – “Strike the shepherd and let the flock disperse!

Though the Mashiach [Mashiach ben Yosef] is killed, chapter 14 assures us that HaShem will “…go out and wage war with those nations [the UN army], as He waged war on the day of battle.”  This according to our sages is accomplished by HaShem through Messiah ben David, the King of Israel.

Two Thirds of the Jewish People Killed?

A common belief among many people, particularly Christians, is that this particular battle will result in the slaying of two thirds of the Jewish people in the land of Israel.  This would be akin to another holocaust and from my point of view highly unlikely.  Would the God of Israel permit such a catastrophic loss of life to His people again?  Many think so.

But a careful reading of the text seems to reveal another possibility.  Verse 8 states, “There will be in all the land -the word of HaShem- two portions [of the population] will be cut off and perish, the third will be left in it.”  I do not believe we are looking a specific number of people but specific groups of people.  The demographics in Israel today are pretty much divided into three main groups: 1) Secular Israeli’s with no desire for the Torah or God, 2) The occupying Palestinians, and 3) the Jews who honor both God and the Torah.

Instead of millions of dead Jews, the prophet could be speaking of the destruction of the godless ‘erev rav’ [mixed multitude] and the debased Philistine presence who desire to eradicate all Jews from ‘Palestine’ and steal the land given to the Israelite people by HaShem through an eternal covenant.  Though it is not possible to know definitively when and how these events transpire, we are assured that HaShem himself will fight on the Jewish people’s behalf.  Halleluyah!

Obama Wants a Palestinian State Based on 1967 (Aushwitz) Borders

Yesterday, May 19 2011, in a speech, US President Obama urged a Palestinian state based on 1967 borders.   Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu swiftly rejected Obama’s call for Israel to pull back to the borders that existed before the 1967 Six-Day War. Roughly translated from Hebrew, a statement from the Prime Minister’s office said that they appreciated Obama’s Obama the Wild Donkey-Man Lackeycommitment to peace, but called the pullback to the 1967 borders “indefensible,” and said that the Palestinians were less than an honest partner in the peace process. While the idea of using the 1967 borders as a starting point to negotiate land swaps for a final peace deal is not new, hearing an American president use those words sent chills through the Netanyahu government, which is loathe to even think the words “’67 borders.”

Republicans looking to unseat President Barack Obama charged that he undermined the sensitive and delicate negotiations for Middle East peace with his outline for resumed talks between Israelis and Palestinians.    Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney said that Obama has thrown Israel under the bus.

The announcement at this time shows Obama’s desire to establish a PA state without any further negotiations.   His speech basically announced for those willing to hear the truth, that the world (Obama and his back-stabbing friends) is tired of the conflict and he intends to put an end to it, his way.  The announcement marked a watershed moment in American foreign policy.  With this speech, Barak Hussein Obama has openly declared himself an enemy of the Jewish State.  That comes with serious repercussions.  While he previously made half-hearted overtures toward Israel, he now has clearly telegraphed his intentions for the United Nations General Assembly to openly declare a Palestinian State with borders that he has determined, and not those negotiated between Israel and the PA.

The Torah emphatically declares that whoever blesses Abraham seed would be blessed and those who curse them will be cursed themselves.  Obama has stepped over line with his intentions to declare the borders of the Land of Israel.  While this is not a new idea, it marks the first time ever an American president publicly endorsed it.  And while I belive this action to be evil, HaShem will use it to bring His people into ‘teshuvah’ (repentance) – to return to faith in Hashem, and to return to the covenant He established between Israel and Himself at Mount Horeb.  HaShem has clearly indicated that He would destroy Edom/Gog for stealing the land HaShem gave to Israel as a eternal inheritance.  Israel has rejected any deal including dividing Jerusalem.  The 1967 borders leave the Jewish people with sovereign control over Jerusalem.  This will cause the next World War – the status over Jerusalem. Edom (USA/Europe/the PA) will ultimately be destroyed for crossing swords with the Almighty over His land.  President Obama (Gog?) will meet his doom as well.

Analysis of his Speech by Brit Am

Yair Davidy of Brit-Am has written a  response to Obama’s ill-conceived speech and has presented a Torah-based solution to the Palestinian problem, determining from the Prophet Yeshayahu (Isaiah) and other passages in the Tanakh that the Arab peoples are to be expelled from the Holy Land.  Yair’s take on a passage from Isaiah is that the “Philistines will be flown to the West.  See THEY MUST GO from Brit-Am.

President Obama’s speech and Brit-Am’s response to it can be read here – IS OBAMA A WILD DONKEY-MAN LACKEY

While I believe that the UN in all likelihood will acknowledge the creation of a Palestinian State with in the border of Israel, that in itself may mark the completion of the last stages of the Final Redemption where Israel must then turn to HaShem alone for help.  For God has promised Israel that once they were returned to the land, they would never be removed from it again:

And I will bring back the captives of My people of Israel, and they shall build the wasted cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them.  And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them,” saith HaShem your God. (Amoz 9:14-15)

HaShem will be zealous for Zion and His will, not the foolish words of the Wild Donkey-Man Lackey, President Obama (May his name be a curse and his bones be ground to dust) shall prevail.  Doom is the destiny of those who show  arrogance against HaShem and His Annointed (Israel).

‘Annexation for Declaration’ Gains Momentum – Defense/Middle East – Israel News – Israel National News

The Mountains of IsraelIsrael and Jordan

‘Annexation for Declaration’ Gains Momentum – Defense/Middle East – Israel News – Israel National News.

Israeli Knesset member MK Danny Danon of the Lukid party is preparing a bill that would annex all of Judea and the Shomron (Samaria) in the likelihood that the PA will press the United Nations to recognize a Palestinian State in the Land of Israel.  Such a move would effectively nullify the Oslo Accords since the agreement stipulates that the borders of the PA state would be negotiated with the Israeli government.  This would actually release Israel from any obligations connected with Oslo.   If the UN proclaims the establishment of a Palestinian state, MK Danon’s bill would extend Israeli sovereignty over Judea and Samaria, including the Jordan Rift Valley.   This development would move Israel closer to the biblical borders outlined in the Tanakh.

This area of Judea and Samaria is known in the Hebrew Bible as the “Mountains of Israel” referred to in the book of the Prophet Ezekiel.  Chapter 36 of that book is a famous prophetic passage about this section of land.

Prophecy to the Mountains of Israel

1“And you, son of man, prophesy to the mountains of Israel, and say, O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the LORD. 2Thus says the Lord GOD: Because the enemy said of you, ‘Aha!’ and, ‘The ancient heights have become our possession,3therefore prophesy, and say, Thus says the Lord GOD: Precisely because they made you desolate and crushed you from all sides, so that you became the possession of the rest of the nations, and you became the talk and evil gossip of the people, 4therefore, O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD: Thus says the Lord GOD to the mountains and the hills, the ravines and the valleys, the desolate wastes and the deserted cities, which have become a prey and derision to the rest of the nations all around, 5therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Surely I have spoken in my hot jealousy against the rest of the nations and against all Edom, who gave my land to themselves as a possession with wholehearted joy and utter contempt, that they might make its pasture lands a prey. 6Therefore prophesy concerning the land of Israel, and say to the mountains and hills, to the ravines and valleys, Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I have spoken in my jealous wrath, because you have suffered the reproach of the nations. 7Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: I swear that the nations that are all around you shall themselves suffer reproach.

8“But you, O mountains of Israel, shall shoot forth your branches and yield your fruit to my people Israel, for they will soon come home. 9For behold, I am for you, and I will turn to you, and you shall be tilled and sown. 10And I will multiply people on you, the whole house of Israel, all of it. The cities shall be inhabited and the waste places rebuilt. 11And I will multiply on you man and beast, and they shall multiply and be fruitful. And I will cause you to be inhabited as in your former times, and will do more good to you than ever before. Then you will know that I am the LORD. 12I will let people walk on you, even my people Israel. And they shall possess you, and you shall be their inheritance, and you shall no longer bereave them of children. 13Thus says the Lord GOD: Because they say to you, ‘You devour people, and you bereave your nation of children,’ 14therefore you shall no longer devour people and no longer bereave your nation of children, declares the Lord GOD. 15And I will not let you hear anymore the reproach of the nations, and you shall no longer bear the disgrace of the peoples and no longer cause your nation to stumble, declares the Lord GOD.”

It seems that while the the world and specifically the Palestinians (who are actually a mixture of Arab peoples and descendants of Esau) intend to try to subvert Israel through a United Nations declaration of statehood, they will be only playing into HaShem’s hand.  Not only will Israel be free of any obligations due to the Oslo Accords (a covenant with death) but Israel may respond by annexing Judea and Samaria thus creating the ancient borders of Israel (minus the land on the east side of the Jordan which Isaiah 16 seems to foretell of a time when Israel is also in possession of the land Jordan). This would theoretically change the status of Judea and Samaria from so-called occupied territory to legitimate Israeli territory.
