Jesuit Pope Francis to be Tried by Sanhedrin

The re-established Israeli Sanhedrin, the High Court  of 71 Jewish sages, has declared that it is putting Pope Francis on trial unless he retracts his statement that the Jews have no right to the land of Israel or to Jerusalem. The Sanhedrin sent a letter to Pope Francis in reaction to the Vatican’s recent support of the Palestinian Authority’s unilateral moves to declare themselves a nation.

“Because the Vatican recognized the organization known as the Palestinian Authority as a nation, and has begun to refer to it as a nation in its documents. His honor has named the head of said authority as an ‘Angel of Peace’, as was explained by a spokesman for the Vatican, that his intention was to encourage Abu Mazen to advance towards peace. These actions, to our great dismay, are consistent with a long series of actions and stances that are as in the days of the Roman Catholic Religion, that swore to persecute Israel because we refused to accept their Messiah as the Messiah of Israel, and to renounce our faith. The recent announcements and actions of the Vatican are a rebuke to the Jewish Nation and to the Bible, which you use to interpret the prophecies, as if God has abandoned his original Nation of Israel. Reality has proven the opposite to be true.”

“We require from you an apology for your recognizing as a nation those who stole the land, those who are known as the Palestinian Authority, and we are informing the Vatican that the sole God given right to the land of Israel is to the Nation of Israel. If His Honor the Pope, and the Vatican, do not apologize within two weeks of receiving this letter, and if he does not change his ways, we shall judge these actions in the Court of Mount Zion, in a court of 71 Jewish elders of Zion, and enact the prophecy of ‘The liberators will rise up upon Mount Zion, to judge the Mountain of Esau and the kingdom shall be God’s’ (Obadiah 1:21). The court shall judge the Vatican in its presence or in absentia, and it is possible that the Vatican will be found guilty of anti-Semitism, as has been known to be done several times throughout history, and to place responsibility upon the Vatican for all of the outcomes of its actions.”

pope and abu mazenWe here at Calling Yisrael could not be more happy. The Catholic Church and it’s Vatican have been a blight upon the Jewish people for 1700 years. For all their apologies in recent years regarding the anti-Semitism and persecution the Catholic faith inflicted upon the Jewish people during it’s long and cruel ascent to power, the real intentions of Catholicism are now bearing down upon us. By endorsing the Palestinian state, it has summarily rejected, yet again, the rights of the true inheritors of the land of Canaan, now known as Eretz Israel.
Our rejection of their false messiah and their corrupted religion have always been a source of enmity between us. The same could be said for Islam. The Jewish people as a whole have never accepted the Christian messiah as the Messiah of Israel and never will. In the final analysis over the last 2000 years we did not accept it and are still alive and kicking. In out modern times the nation of Israel has been re-established and many scattered Jews have been brought home, still without compromise or acceptance of false gods. The nation has endured many wars to annilate her from the face of the earth. And during those harsh times, HaShem has shown up time after time, demonstrating miracle after miracle and dispatching His and Israel’s enemies. Yet we still have not accepted the false god-man or prophet. Israel continues to demonstrate kindness to both it’s friends and enemies but is badly maligned in the biased media. We still will not accept your false religions or bow down to them.
But soon the foreigners and powers, both secular and religious, that seek to subjugate the Jewish nation will be put down. The Messiah will come and fight the wars of HaShem, throw out the idolaters that defile the Land. The Temple will be rebuilt and the scattered tribes will be regathered into the bosom of the nation. Judgement will come upon the world. False religions will be cast out and destroyed – particularly the religions of wood and stone, Christianity and Islam who have done so much harm toward the Jewish people. May their names be blotted out from out memories.
Blesssed is the nation that trusts in her God, HaShem and his righteousness. It is he who is the Saviour of Israel, and no other. May His name be exalted and rejoiced in, to the end of the ages.

Israel Warns Neighbors Over March to Jerusalem

Israel warns neighbors against attempted breaches of its borders during the ‘Global March to Jerusalem’.

As activists are planning to lead a Global March to Jerusalem next Friday, Israel has warned neighboring countries that it would forcefully respond to attempted breaches of its borders.
The Global March to Jerusalem initiative aims at getting over one million Arabs and their supporters to attempt to infiltrate Israel’s borders on March 30th. A spokesman for the march said last week the initiative “demand[s] freedom for Palestine and its capital Jerusalem.”
The Meir Amit Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center (ITIC) has presented information that Iran is behind the initiative and openly supports it. The march has also been endorsed by Rev. Jeremiah Wright, who was U.S. President Barack Obama’s pastor for 20 years at the Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago.  Diplomatic sources told the London-based Asharq Alawsat newspaper on Friday that Israel has sent messages to the governments of Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, Jordan, the Hamas government in Gaza and the Palestinian Authority regarding the planned march.
The report said that in the messages Israel made it clear that anyone who will come near its borders would be considered an infiltrator and the IDF will act against him with full force.
Israel also reportedly demanded that Arab countries not allow an escalation of the tension in the region through marches toward its borders. Channel 10 News, which cited the Asharq Alawsat report, said that the Israeli Foreign Ministry and Prime Minister’s Office refused to comment on the report. Earlier this week, radio host Aaron Klein of WABC radio in New York offered $50,000 to an organizer of the Global March to Jerusalem, if he could name one city in the Middle East, outside of Israel, that has more freedom than Jerusalem. The activist was unable to do so.

Jerusalem is Jewish

While we have spent some time speaking about the upcoming US Presidential Elections and other matters relating to it it, we are a blog about Israel in Prophecy (past & present) and that is our primary focus.  But we feel that cover America politics is an important part of the picture given the past relationship that Israel and the USA have had.   And since the election of Barak Obama, that relationship has been stressed, almost to the limit.  As an American, however, I am appalled at the hard line that the Obama Regime has taken against HaShem’s anointed people and especially against the Land and the Eternal City – Jerusalem.

This vile man, our president would give the heritage of Israel to those who regularly defile it and themselves.  There are many reports of riots at the mosque on the Temple Mount, some which have been documented and reported by Israel in Prophecy.  Most of those who express sympathy for the Palestinian cause, have never met a real Palestinian and their support is based on a misguided emotional appeal based on Media lies and half-truths.  Having visited Israel in 2010 during Pesach, I came into contact with many Palestinians.  I did not stay in the normal accommodations that tourists frequent but chose to stay in the Shomron area ( ancient Samaria) at Karnei Shomron.   This afforded me the opportunity to see and visit various Jewish and Palestinian towns in the area.  After spending almost 3 weeks there, I reached a interesting conclusion based on what I saw.   While I met many different Palestinians, both decent folks and haters, this was not unusual.  This could be said of countless races and ethnicities.  The revelation for me was how they treated the land.   There was a stark contrast between Jewish homes and villages and Palestinian ones, sometimes just over the hill.  Everywhere in the Shomron and Judea, Jewish homes and villages, no matter how old or how new bore the signs of life.  Jews of Samaria and Judea always kept there villages clean and welcoming.  There were always trees, flowers and bushes of all types being planted.  Even the home of a so-called settler who had only a tent to live in, planted saplings and flowers around his property.  By contrast, Palestinian villages and homes were dingy, with little effort to plant trees, flowers, bushes or to make the area warm and inviting.

This one thing shows who the real owners of Israel are.  Every landlord knows most tenant don’t or won’t care for their property the way they themselves would.  As landowners we are continually trying to improve our property – to make it warm and inviting, a place one would call home.

To my brother Jews and Israelis I would remind you that while our repressive government would see your heritage given to a base and undeserving people, individual Americans of many backgrounds and stripes are supportive of your righteous struggle to regain all of your biblical heritage including every inch of Judea and Samaria.  Many of us acknowledge that Jerusalem is the eternal capital of the Jewish state and will be the capital of the regathered 12 tribe nation under a Davidic king in the future.  As a Jew my heart yearns for a Jerusalem where all people’s, but especially Jews, may pray on the Temple Mount where there will be a rebuilt Temple – a House of Prayer for all Peoples.  As Jews, we have a God-ordained right to the Temple Mount, which was and still is the spiritual center of Judaism.

The follow article by Eli Hertz is a reminder of the place Jerusalem holds in the heart of a Jew:

“Jerusalem, wrote historian Martin Gilbert, is not a ‘mere’ city. “It holds the central spiritual and physical place in the history of the Jews as a people.”

For more than 3,000 years, the Jewish people have looked to Jerusalem as their spiritual, political, and historical capital, even when they did not physically rule over the city. Throughout its long history, Jerusalem has served, and still serves, as the political capital of only one nation – the one belonging to the Jews. Its prominence in Jewish history began in 1004 BCE, when King David declared the city the capital of the first Jewish kingdom. David’s successor and son, King Solomon, built the First Temple there, according to the Bible, as a holy place to worship the Almighty. Unfortunately, history would not be kind to the Jewish people. Four hundred and ten years after King Solomon completed construction of Jerusalem, the Babylonians (early ancestors to today’s Iraqis) seized and destroyed the city, forcing the Jews into exile. [end of article]

Fifty years later, the Jews, or Israelites as they were called, were permitted to return after Persia (present-day Iran) conquered Babylon. The Jews’ first order of business was to reclaim Jerusalem as their capital and rebuild the Holy Temple, recorded in history as the Second Temple.

Jerusalem was more than the Jewish kingdom’s political capital – it was a spiritual beacon. During the First and Second Temple periods, Jews throughout the kingdom would travel to Jerusalem three times yearly for the pilgrimages of the Jewish holy days of Sukkot, Passover, and Shavuot, until the Roman Empire destroyed the Second Temple in 70 CE and ended Jewish sovereignty over Jerusalem for the next 2,000 years. Despite that fate, Jews never relinquished their bond to Jerusalem or, for that matter, to Eretz Yisrael, the Land of Israel.

No matter where Jews lived throughout the world for those two millennia, their thoughts and prayers were directed toward Jerusalem. Even today, whether in Israel, the United States or anywhere else, Jewish ritual practice, holiday celebration and life-cycle events include recognition of Jerusalem as a core element of the Jewish experience. Consider that:

•         Jews in prayer always turn toward Jerusalem.

•         Arks (the sacred chests) that hold Torah scrolls in synagogues throughout the world face Jerusalem.

•         Jews end Passover Seders each year with the words: “Next year in Jerusalem”; the same words are pronounced at the end of Yom Kippur, the most solemn day of the Jewish year.

•         A three-week moratorium on weddings in the summer recalls the breaching of the walls of Jerusalem by the Babylonian army in 586 BCE. That period culminates in a special day of mourning – Tisha B’Av (the 9th day of the Hebrew month Av) – commemorating the destruction of both the First and Second Temples.

•         Jewish wedding ceremonies – joyous occasions, are marked by sorrow over the loss of Jerusalem. The groom recites a biblical verse from the Babylonian Exile: “If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning,”and breaks a glass in commemoration of the destruction of the Temples.

Even body language, often said to tell volumes about a person, reflects the importance of Jerusalem to Jews as a people and, arguably, the lower priority the city holds for Muslims:

•         When Jews pray they face Jerusalem; in Jerusalem Israelis pray facing the Temple Mount.

•         When Muslims pray, they face Mecca; in Jerusalem Muslims pray with their backs to the city.

•         Even at burial, a Muslim face, is turned toward Mecca.

Finally, consider the number of times ‘Jerusalem’ is mentioned in the two religions’ holy books:

•         The Old Testament mentions ‘Jerusalem’ 349 times. Zion, another name for ‘Jerusalem,’ is mentioned 108 times.

•         The Quran never mentions Jerusalem – not even once.

Even when others controlled Jerusalem, Jews maintained a physical presence in the city, despite being persecuted and impoverished. Before the advent of modern Zionism in the 1880s, Jews were moved by a form of religious Zionism to live in the Holy Land, settling particularly in four holy cities: Safed, Tiberias, Hebron, and most importantly – Jerusalem. Consequently, Jews constituted a majority of the city’s population for generations. In 1898, “In this City of the Jews, where the Jewish population outnumbers all others three to one …” Jews constituted 75 percent of the Old City population in what Secretary-General Kofi Annan called ‘East Jerusalem.’ In 1914, when the Ottoman Turks ruled the city, 45,000 Jews made up a majority of the 65,000 residents. And at the time of Israeli statehood in 1948, 100,000 Jews lived in the city, compared to only 65,000 Arabs. Prior to unification, Jordanian-controlled ‘East Jerusalem’ was a mere 6 square kilometers, compared to 38 square kilometers on the ‘Jewish side.’

Revisting the Words of Moshe Feiglin

The following article was posted on our blog some months ago.  Due to recent events we feel it’s important to revisit the timely words of our friend Moshe Feiglin.  As we are now mere weeks from the September 20th gathering at the UN to take up the question of a Palestinian state, we must be under no delusions of what designs Fatah and Hamas have for the sovereignty of Israel and what awaits her people if we stand by and let the barbarian horde overtake us.

The Holocaust Yet to Come

by Moshe Feiglin

This article is not about the Holocaust that happened. It is about the Holocaust that is liable to come knocking on our door. If you are weak of heart, stop reading now. But if you are staying with me, please take a deep breath, forget about secondary political issues and internalize what I am writing. The trains to Auschwitz did not have separate cars for Right and Left, Haredi and secular.

It is popular to pontificate on the lesson of the Holocaust. Every person takes the Holocaust to the place that is comfortable for him. I would like to discuss a very basic lesson that I have never seen disproved: The Western world will not try too hard to close down the gas chambers. Not only that. It will even indirectly stoke them.

True, after the Holocaust, in a rare moment of good will, the world voted to partition the Land of Israel and to recognize the fledgling Jewish state. But this recognition had no practical implications. Seven Arab armies invaded the tiny area allocated to Israel. The world did not lift a finger. The Egyptian army got to within thirty kilometers of Tel Aviv, murdering and destroying every person and settlement in its path. They cut through the Negev and reached Beit Lechem. The Jordanians were just twenty minutes away from Israel’s coast. The Syrians captured Mishmar Hayarden – and destroyed it, of course.

Three years after the Holocaust, the Western world waited once again for the Arabs to finish off the dirty work. It did nothing to help Israel. But then, with G-d’s loving grace, the situation turned around. The nascent IDF stopped the Arab armies. On the southern front, Yigal Alon commanded over some brilliant maneuvers that more or less eliminated the Egyptian army. The IDF forces got all the way to El Arish inside Egypt.

When that happened, Britain threatened that if the IDF would not retreat, it would invade Israel. America pressured, Ben Gurion gave in and the new norm was set: When the Jews are in danger, the world waits patiently. When they start to win, the world stops them.

The Western world – upon all its beauty and advantages – will always act as a static anvil for the murderous hammer descending upon the Jews from above – be it the Nazi hammer, the Arab hammer or any other murderous, anti Jewish hammer.

The time when we will have to decide if we are willing to entrust our fate to the very same West that will always be happy to be rid of the “Israel Problem” is rapidly approaching. We see ourselves as an inseparable part of the Western world. It is difficult for us to accept that the West, our cultural patron, will simply close its eyes with relief when six million Jews in Israel will once again be facing wholesale slaughter.
But that is precisely the direction that events are taking. The only difference between 1948 and today is that then we were a rabbit that thought it was a lion and today we are a lion that thinks it is a rabbit. In 1948, our physical weakness invited invasion. Today, our mental weakness invites invasion.

What invasion am I talking about? If we were not living in denial, the media would be abuzz about Samantha Power, head of the National Security Council, who advocates taking the funds that the US now invests in the IDF and investing them instead in the ‘Palestinian’ army. In no uncertain terms, she discusses a possible US invasion of Israel – to keep the peace, of course. When that goal is accomplished, Power advocates leaving us here to enjoy the loving kindness of the righteous souls in Ramallah.

As surrealistic as all of this sounds now, it is most important to remember that only terror organizations and Arab states used to deny Israel’s right to exist. Now this concept is coffee table talk throughout Europe. The denial of the right to exist always precedes physical annihilation. That is another important lesson of the Holocaust.

Tony Blair, the European Union’s envoy to the Mid-East, recently said that Europe would accept the Hamas as a negotiating partner, refusing to make that contingent on Hamas recognition of Israel’s right to exist. When officials of the stature of Power and Blair make these statements, they are charting the course for Western policy.

After the UN will recognize a Palestinian state at the 1967 borders, the Arabs will demand an Israeli retreat. To make sure we know they mean business, they will punctuate their demands with missiles on Israel’s cities. Israel will be forced to respond and the international coalition will rev up its motors to come save the peace.

All signs point to the fact that Israel is currently building the foundations for a Palestinian state and is planning an instant, southern-Lebanon-style retreat from Judea and Samaria. Something like, ‘Get on the buses now and we’ll explain later.’

But the Arabs don’t really want a state. All that they want is to end Jewish sovereignty in Israel. Their demands will intensify after Israel’s retreat from Judea and Samaria as per the Gush Katif aftermath model. They will demand the Jewish neighborhoods in East Jerusalem, right of return for their ‘refugees’, compensation payments, an international peace keeping force and what not. In the meantime, they will continue to bombard us with missiles. Israel’s military response will serve the West with its excuse to intervene. At this point, an exhausted Israel will have to decide: Either open the Ashdod port to the US Navy forces or fight against the entire world.

All of Israel’s ‘enlightened’ elites will unequivocally support opening Israel’s gates to the ‘Peacekeeping’ forces. From the President all the way down to the writers in the major newspapers, they will have no other solution. “And what is better?” they will ask. “Living in the shadow of the West, or fighting a war being forced upon us by Jewish fundamentalists?” The patriotic declarations being sounded today in the Likud will turn into ‘pragmatic’ rhetoric. The West is the very air that we breathe and the lesson of the Holocaust will be ignored.

The last thing that the policy-makers are capable of thinking is that we are a nation in our own merit, a nation that relies on its own ethical code. They will never come to terms with the fact that we are not Western or Eastern; we are simply Jews who, as opposed to 1948 – are not weak at all. We are a formidable economic and military power and are capable of extracting a terrible price from any country in the world that will threaten our sovereignty.

We will never even think that the entire problem does not exist in reality, but only in our minds. In other words, our psychological dependency on the West actually invites this scenario. No Western country would challenge our sovereignty if it had the slightest fear of an Israeli response. We are a lion that thinks it is a rabbit. But knowing this country, I do not expect that we will respond to threats on our sovereignty in the manner that any normal nation would respond. Instead, Israel will open its gates to the ‘Peacekeeping’ forces. The IDF will be disbanded and the rest of the story has already been experienced by the Jewish People throughout its long and painful history.

As a believing Jew, I pray that our Father in heaven will perform a miracle and that one year from now, you will be able to take this article and laugh at me. I am a great believer in the Nation of Israel and anticipate that unexpected energies will emerge in the nick of time to prevent this scenario.

As Independence Day approaches, we must say loudly and clearly: There is life after America. The struggle is not for the settlements. The danger is much more existential and all-inclusive. It is not military danger. It is not economic danger. The danger is our total collapse in a process that is all-too reminiscent of the fall of Czechoslovakia. The moment that a state entrusts its existence to other states that have other interests, its existence becomes transient.

It is urgent to cut the psychological ropes binding us to the West. We are not Americans. We are Israelis and we have an independent and strong faith and culture from which we draw our own existential legitimacy – not from the West.

There is life after America. Put it on stickers. Blog it. Write it on your social media. Broadcast it at rallies and wherever you can. We do not need American aid. All that we need is to return to our tried and true Jewish identity.

Ron Paul – Good for the USA and Good for Israel

Jon Stewart of Comedy Central’s the Daily Show recently asked, “Why is everyone still ignoring Ron Paul?” Among Republican presidential hopefuls, the 12-term Texas congressman came within 200 votes of Michelle Bachman in the Iowa straw poll, a margin of about 3%. But as Stewart points out, Paul’s name is conspicuously absent from the “top tier” of candidates in recent discussions by TV news reporters.

It’s impossible to ignore the ruthlessly consistent media bias against Ron Paul. He’s the only candidate whose message remains consistent and thoughtful. The others change like the weather, spouting vague principles, and never making much sense. The Iowa debate audience loved Paul. It’s the media shills who refuse to acknowledge him.  Ron Paul is the only politician that I know that is not sold out to special interest groups and has a sound understanding of responsible fiscal policy.   He is also one congressman that would end foreign and military aid to Israel (and everyone else for that matter.   The billions of dollars that Israel receives is a TROJAN HORSE and is crippling Israel’s self determination.

Cutting off Military Aid Could be a Good Step in the Right Direction

U.S. Senator Patrick Leahy is promoting a bill to suspend U.S. assistance to three elite Israel Defense Forces units, alleging they are involved in human rights violations in the West Bank and Gaza

Vote for Ron Paul

Real Change for the World

Strip.   While I’m certainly no fan of Patrick Leahy, restricting military aid to Israel is a step in the right direction, even if the charges are bogus and drummed up by Palestinian activists, still mad over the flotilla fiasco.  Cutting off aid to an IDF who recently formalized a series of operational recommendations, some of which recommend to give the terrorist PA even more weapons to use against Israeli’s  in order to  prevent the security situation in Judea, Samaria, and Gaza from spiraling out of control in September when the UN announces the creation of a Palestinian state. [Source – Arutz Sheva]

Many well meaning groups believe that ending aid to Israel would embolden her enemies even more.   Certainly that is true.  But with no one to look to for deliverance, Israel will have to look to HaShem for help, which He is quite willing to give if Israel would only trust God for her destiny, not the gifts of men.

Ron Paul I believe is key to helping prevent a catastrophe here in America and across the ocean in Israel. If you love Israel – Do what is best for her by removing one of the largest obstacles that impedes the Redemption.  Vote for Ron Paul in 2012 and encourage your friends and family as well.

PA Reiterates Old Nazi Strategy

The Looming Cloud of a New Holocuast

Last week, Chairman Mahmoud Abbas of the Palestinian Authority told visiting members of the United States House of Representatives that it was his intention to establish a PA state in Judea and Samaria, with Jerusalem as its capital. He said that he was against any possibility of Jewish communities remaining in those areas.

UN sacrifices Israel to establish a barbaric people In defense of the settlements and of insistence on Arab recognition of Israel as a Jewish state, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu encouraged cabinet members to use the Nazi-era word “Judenrein” – German for “cleansed of Jews” – and used the expression in his meeting with German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier.  The PA has accused Israel of stalling talks by using such inflammatory language.

The United States, Russia, the European Union and the United Nations –  the self-proclaimed Middle East Quartet – expressed “concern” Tuesday over construction for Israelis in Ariel a city in biblical Samaria. “The Quartet is greatly concerned by Israel’s recent announcements to advance planning for new housing units in Ariel and East Jerusalem,” the group declared.  A United States State Department spokeswoman termed the housing plans “deeply troubling” and “counterproductive.”  This of course means that Israel’s continued building in the so called ‘settlement’ area’s is counter-productive toward the American/UN agenda of establishing a Middle East and one world order under their direction.

The city of Ariel is one that Israel considers to be within the “national consensus,” that is, territories that Israel plans to keep under any future diplomatic agreement with the Palestinian Authority. Jerusalem is not only part of the consensus, but has been officially annexed to the rest of Israel.  The Quartet statement appears to indicate that Quartet nations not only do not recognize Israel’s reunification of Jerusalem, but do not believe that Israel will truly be able to maintain control of “consensus” lands in talks with the PA.

The establishment of a  Palestinian State will be taken up by the United Nations on September 20 0f this year, only a week before the High Holy Days.  Given all the rhetoric, it appears the UN is prepared to sacrifice Israel in order to establish a barbaric people in the land given to Abraham, Issac and Jacob.

O God, do not remain quiet;
Do not be silent and, O God, do not be still.
For behold, Your enemies make an uproar,
And those who hate You have exalted themselves.
They make shrewd plans against Your people,
And conspire together against Your treasured ones.
They have said, “Come, and let us wipe them out as a nation,
That the name of Israel be remembered no more.”
For they have conspired together with one mind;
Against You they make a covenant….  [Psalm 83:1-5]
